Bill Dance’s Big River Conventional Reel is a monster-beater with the guts and the versatility to tackle giant cats, striper, alligator gar, or any other freshwater behemoths you plan to tackle whether in the river, lake, or bayou. A great power gear ration of 4.2:1 is just right for large fish, and the 2 stainless ball bearings keep operation smooth and balanced. Featuring a high-capacity aluminum spool to hold all the line you need for predators breaking for the other end zone, plus a strong power handle, synchronous levelwind, selectable bite alert, and rock-solid stainless steel reel foot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome I bought four of them and have only used them a couple times but love them so far. A little tricky to cast at first but after a little practice had no trouble at all. I use 20lb test line with a 1oz egg sinker. Caught several cats so far one 5lb blue he didn't have a chance. I look forward to larger fish and I feel these reels will do the job. The bait alert works great sensitive enough to alert even for fish under 1lb. I would recommend these to anyone who loves to catfish as I do. May 29, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Bill Dance reel The Bill Dance fishing reel is poor quality. It does cast well and the lever for the free spool at times does not want to disengage. May 13, 2013

A:
Does the Worm gear move back and forth? sometimes line can get jammed on the actual worm gear and cannot real it in. I had a older Daiwa reel that did that to me and had to send it in for repair.
