Rated 3 out of 5Â by spedeg316 Good harness and better service
I bought this over thanksgiving week 2012 and used the vest a few times. It fit very well for me being a big guy around 260lbs. It was easy to climb in and had nice pockets to store deer calls and scents in. I had an issue where one of the buckles magically disappeared. I contacted customer service today and within minutes had a replacement vest on its way to my house. While the vest fit well and service was great, the fact that the main leg buckle just came off warrants the less than stellar rating.

I wanted a vest type HSS to replace the straps that come with stands, this one was attractively priced. Works as expected. Noisy and you have to be aware of the metal and plastic parts, you can overcome the noise by moving the buckles to places where they do not clang or rub. The large pockets are nice because the system cuts off your other pockets. I also bought a climber's carabiner to leave on the tree strap so all I have to is clip in or out as needed.

Rated 2 out of 5Â by dadanman Too many issues
Let me start out by saying this was well put together and my safety was never in question.
There are three simple issues I had with this item.
1. Weight. it is heavy. Add a climber and a day pack and it is just too much weight.
2. The car seat buckles are bulky. very easy to put on however.
3. Smelly. I left it outside for days and it still has a paint smell.

Im right there with you. if you are mostly belly, i'd go with the 2xl. The XL will still fit but when you combine jackets, etc, not so good.A:Â
I am 6 two, 200 pounds, and use the XL, it is big but works with light clothes and fits nice with several layers of winter wear.Details:Â
Any comments on sizing? I would usually consider a medium (I'm 5-8 @ 165 lbs) but with hunting clothes perhaps should by the L/XL.Your thoughts?
Thanks

Under insulation yes. Over insulation, a L/XL will probably still be too big.A:Â
I'm 5-9 160lbs and the small-medium vest fits perfect. I would say with zip up coveralls maybe go with the large.Top 10 Contributor

ALWAYS buy larger when in doubt (except when buying clothes for your wife...in that case always buy much too small and let her exchange them for ones she really wants in correct size). These have adjustable straps but to allow for hunting clothes, buy larger size than usual if unable to try it on first.Answers

feels like a pvc/vinyl type material. Not the quietest but certainly not the noisiest material. helps with the rain and wet trees on your back.A:Â
The vest is quiet unless you bang a carabiner or another hard part with your range finder. I did. Other than that silent.A:Â
The liner is plastic which stinks very badly and is very noisy. I also do not trust the quality and am returning mine if I can.1 of 1
