Strutrut is exactly correct in his review. I even got a larger amp 12v battery(the housing is big enough). It will burn through it in 5 weeks. If you plan on putting this at your hunt camp you will have to visit it every 5 weeks to charge it. after 2 years my motor burned out. I will try to replace it with a less powerful motor which may extend battery life. You will also need to stand on your ranger to fill it, I am 6'3. Now for the positives. It has a great varment guard, but you might as well give up now on the solar panel dont waste you money raccoons will chew up the wires. That battery eating motor also throws corn 20 yards so dont look at it while testing. If you are a fan of big game products go with the 250lb version and call big game and tell them to do something about the battery eating motor. It is a stable stand that does not jam. I will be looking for a feeder with longer battery life i am 1200 miles from my feeder.

I have owned a few feeders, this feeder burns through a 12v battery in a matter of weeks with a run time of 5 seconds. The motor burns to much power. While my other feeder will run for six months without a charge. So unless you want to charge you battery every couple weeks do not buy this feeder. On another not i tried the solar panel that is compatible with the feeder but the racoons with pull it down.

I have been excited about this feeder for some time now! It appears to be working great! My only complain was having to pound out all the dented peices when it was shipped to me! The durability should be better than other plastic feeders on the market. I am interested to see how durable this motor and solar panel are after a cold winter in Kansas! Main thing in this purchase I can see I was not pleased with was the condition the feeders metal panels and lid showed up in otherwise so far so good

this product once assembled, is a great thing however, assembly should not take place in the field. there are way too many pieces to be lost, but the bad thing about it is that once it is together, its pretty big. we were skeptical as to whether or not 450# would fit in there, but it sure enough does. do yourself a huge favor and read the instructions first, and when it says front panel, it means the panel with the clip, and when it says the back panel, it means the panel with the reinforced hole at the top and in the middle. i really think they could do a heck of a lot better with packaging, quite a few pieces were bent and some of the paint was rubbed off. overall, i like it, its easy to program and gosh dang will it throw corn! DO NOT stand within 25 feet when it throws, and you should probably wear safety glasses. it is a little wobbly once filled, but it aint goin anywhere! i do suggest fabbing some feet for it. for the money, i say its the best out there.
