The most I have ever paid for a feeder. The new battery didn't last 2 weeks. Big Game did admit that the unit pulls a lot of power. A solar charger did help. This year
(only 2 years old) the controller doesn't work. I tried to call Big Game but could not find a live number to talk to someone. I sent an email, letting them know what I was seeing, no response. Terrible customer service.

Strutrut is exactly correct in his review. I even got a larger amp 12v battery(the housing is big enough). It will burn through it in 5 weeks. If you plan on putting this at your hunt camp you will have to visit it every 5 weeks to charge it. after 2 years my motor burned out. I will try to replace it with a less powerful motor which may extend battery life. You will also need to stand on your ranger to fill it, I am 6'3. Now for the positives. It has a great varment guard, but you might as well give up now on the solar panel dont waste you money raccoons will chew up the wires. That battery eating motor also throws corn 20 yards so dont look at it while testing. If you are a fan of big game products go with the 250lb version and call big game and tell them to do something about the battery eating motor. It is a stable stand that does not jam. I will be looking for a feeder with longer battery life i am 1200 miles from my feeder.
