i have had 3 of the biggame tripod feeders for 2 years. Water gets into the feed container and spoils your corn or dry pellets. I am now in need of replacing my 4th controller as they just go dead. i would not recommend this feeder due to the costly replacement of parts yearly.

It's a super nice feeder and I'm sure it will last longer than me. The instructions for assembling are a bit incompete. I found that using a rachet tie down aided allot in the assembly. Also caulking the holes from the inside. Set it to feed for 10 sec twice a day and still on the 1st load. I also don't think it will hold more than 200lbs of corn.

Rated 4 out of 5 by sailorb Squirrel proof feeder?
My initial reaction is very positive. My old, plastic barrel type feeder was destroyed by squirrels and raccoons in about 4 months. The assembly was a bit more complex than I would have imagined. It would have probably been better to build it on site than at my home and have to take it apart to move it. 2 sets of hands would have made some steps much easier. Some of the seams on the hopper had gaps larger than I liked, so I sealed them with silicon caulk for good measure. It might have been unnecessary, but after my last feeder experience I am not taking any chances. My only complaint with quality was a tack weld on the lid that broke, but it was in a non critical area, so I didn't sweat it. The timer was easy to set up and appears to be pretty critter resistant. Time will tell. Be careful if you run a test cycle. This unit slings corn with an attitude and will hurt you if you are to close to it. I was trying to collect corn from a feeding to weigh it using a plastic trash bag and some kernals came right on thru.

This is the first and last feeder I will ever buy. It was easy to assemble and set up the timer.
