I have used the frugal frog poppers for years. They are killer for bluegill! The frugal frogs out perform all of Betts' other poppers by far. If you want to slay bluegill with a fly rod, tie on a frugal frog.

This fly is my favorite bass popper. I caught a 7.5 pound bass on 14 pound tippet in a retintion pond in tampa fl on this fly in the green color. I was thirteen. I never applied for a record but I think it was. GET ONE.
