Berkley Trilene XT Extra Tough Line - 1000-Yard Economy Spool
Long Term Review
I've been using Trilene XT for over 10 years now, and it has never let me down. I fish a lot of slop and heavy cover, and this line has performed every time. I have even landed 3+ pound bass and discovered a few nicks in the line in the first 6 feet after landing the fish. 14Lb is my go-to line, and we usually have to cut it if I do manage to get hung up. That, or I end up reeling the boat to the snag so I can get my lure out! Great line, great price, and I highly recommend 10Lb & up.

A "go to" line.
I've been a big fan of Trilene XL for years but decided to give XT a try on my spinning rod as I was hunting smallies in the rocks. I bought 8 lb test and spooled up and headed out to one of my favorite spots which unfortunately has a "lure eating tree". Sure enough I got my brand new finesse jig caught and thanks to this line, I was not only able to get it back but I also pulled out a bird's nest of line, fluke, and small rapala crankbait (score!). I never would've thought a mono could handle that kind of abuse.
This line is thin in diameter, limp, casts very well, & transmits vibrations very nicely. I haven't had the memory problem some guys have complained about but if you make sure your bail is winding the line on the spool in the same direction the line is coming of its coil, that can help eliminate line twist. Also use firm but not tight tension on the line when you spool up.

hands down...best mono
i've been at this for 35 yrs. it's just the best all-around mono you can get. with all of the other stuff i need to be concerned with while fishing...my line should not be one of them! i use 6 and 8 lb test for my clear water lake and have found that the low-vis green just 'disappears' in the water!! very important ! great stuff !!

This line is tough! I use it for striped bass. It does the job well! It is a bit stiff, doesn't cast that far, but that's just me! It does have a bit of memory, but it is abrasion resistant, Not much for saltwater use. That's why I went to Trileen Big Game.
