Rated 3 out of 5 by Just an OK line! It does cast well, hold a knot, low memory, sensitive, but it is not as strong as other lines I have used! Not a bad line, just an OK line! August 9, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by My Favorite Mono This is my absolute favorite mono... here's why: THE GOOD: This line has been around for some time. It is very manageable, it has low memory - and I know everyone SAYS that about their product, but this is for real - and it is pretty strong. I have found it to be very reliable, I get great knot strength with it, and have no problem tying fluorocarbon leaders direct with back-to-back uni knots. THE BAD: It's not as strong as other lines of the same pound test, which is probably due to the smaller diameter - but that smaller diameter results in lower line memory, so it's a trade off. If you spool up properly you won't have any issues. THE VERDICT: Even though we are barraged by new superlines that "do everything", there are still many reasons to use mono in a lot of fishing situations. Trilene XL is an inexpensive, exceptional product that has given me consistent results for years. Walleye or bass, spinning or baitcast - when I buy mono, this is it. Period. July 25, 2013
