Berkley Trilene XL Armor Coating Monofilament Line offers increased abrasion resistance. Utilizing Berkley's Bi-Component Technology, they've created a super strong monofilament line with two bonded layers: one) an abrasion-resistant sheath, and two) an exceptionally flexible core. Rated 2 out of 5 by Too Slick First off, let me say that this line does do what it states it does. It has low memory and is extremely abrasion resistant. I use it bass fishing, and if I happen to hook into a big pike, there won't be a mark on the line... it must slip right between the teeth. The problem with the line is it is TOO slippery. It tends to jump right off the reel, causing a lot of loops and bird's nests. Also, I doubt that the coating HAS to be dark green. I'm betting it could be clear, which would improve the line's performance in clear water. April 21, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Trilene's Best I started using this line a year ago and i LOVE IT!!! I use it on spinning gear only and it is extremely castable and limp with no line memory. I use it in every situation from spinnerbaits to flipping stumps and have never had a breakoff. Great line at a great price. March 23, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Performs fine -- Color Awful First off, the line performs well. Very little memory. Knots held up ok if you moisten the line. The main issue I had was the color of the line. Extremely visible, very dark green in color. We had a group of experienced anglers fishing for Bass with identical lures, using the same techniques, and the people using clear or other brand low vis green were the only ones catching fish. This line might work if you are fishing extremely dirty water, but I won't be using it anymore. November 12, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Save your money Berkley makes fantastic products. Ive used them all my life. With that said, don't make this your first Berkley purchase or it will be your last. I bought this as my local store was out of all fluoro and braid. I needed something abrasion resistant for all the rocks and logs at a certain lake. It was a mess right off the main spool. It literally jumped off the spool. I was only using 12# test too. I had all kinds of trouble getting it to lie flat on the spool. With the stiffness it felt like I was using 25# leader material. Once I got spooled up and too the lake, I was even more disappointed. My casting distance was gone. I did all I could to reset the settings on my reel with no luck. I ended the trip and stripped the line. I still have a 3/4 spool of this left. It doesn't even make a decent backing for main line. Save your money and just buy the Trilene XL. August 30, 2012

Yes it has way to much line memory for any mono out there. Trilene XL original would be a much better buy.

Memory is not bad at all but it's only been on my reels a few days. I don't use spinning reels but I think it would work well on them without jumping off the spool. I un-spooled 6 foot of it at the store & it dropped straight down. Used Trilene XL since it came out & it never failed me. I think the Trilene XL fans will like this new line and should try at least one spool. Reason being is 40% more abrasive resistance.

Hardly none,I've trolled with this line in the Adirondaks and turned around and cast for brookies in the stream and have had no bird nest tangles.the same application with stren or trilene mono I've had to deal with a mess streamside where I had to spool new line.
