Looks like a sand flea. But just doesn't perform like one.

Live Sand Fleas are the preferred bait for a lot of species on the Panhandle of Florida. We ran out of the live and the pompano and red bite died right off when we switched to the Gulp. However, the catfish and stingrays loved them..

go live or even frozen shrimp. Did not get a single hit, it may work for some but I finally went to frozen shrimp when I was the only one on the dock without any bites.

Never used this bait in the surf but in Ocean City Maryland the Tautog and black sea bass love these things served on a #1 or #2 hook right in the rocks.
