Yay! First Review!
The Berkley chigger quad got my attention in an ad in an In-Fisherman magazine. It's more pricey than previous Berkley products, but its got the same powerbait smell and taste. It's different from the other chigger craw and crazy tail because the claws are sickle shaped, so they don't flutter-they twirl, like a grub tail. It's basically a double tailed grub with 4 appendages, and legs. More vibration than a chigger craw, and different look. Definitely more of a bait that i would use as a trailer on something moving.
fishing it so far, i've found that it
a. catches fish, but with powerbait that's a guaranteed.
b. works nicely as a surface bait-the claws make it kick like a buzzbait toad.
c. rigged either weightless or not sideways texas rig, can be fished to look like a bluegill (watermelon candy color)
d. fished flat texas rigged, it's a high vibration craw bait
e. as a trailer, does not replace the chigger craw, but definitely has more movement. I like baits that give movement, so I like fishing it.\
It's overall a good new powerbait, but you should get it when the price drops, becuase 5 bucks for a berkley bait i think is too much.
