I bought one of these several years ago, in fact, I got many years service out of it. Finally the plastic spool tensioners broke, and of course you can't buy parts, so I ordered a new one.
The plastic in the new one is so thin that the socket that holds the rod, which in turn holds the spool of new line, broke on the first usage. I can't get at it to try to glue it, but if I could, it would still be too thin and weak to hold anyway.
Back to a pencil held between my toes like in the old days...

It will hold 3000 yd spools of braid, however, the plastic is so thin that it broke the first time I used it.I never attached a reel to it - couldn't see the sense in taking it off the rod.

I use mine on a baitcaster rod and reel, but a spinner reel has a problem with the twisting if your line is somewhat old. It is hard to control the twisting on a spinner but it should be ok if you take care and put it in a position that will release as soon as the strike happens.A:
As i spooled my reel i had my daughter put friction on the line spool with her index finger and the line coming across to my reel i used my left index finger to put tension on the line to my reel to rid line of any slack and cranked the reel with my right. didn't have any line twist and my spools were nice and tight. You need to make sure that the line is coming off the spool over the top and don't spool too quickly.A:
All I use is spinning reels and I haven't experienced this problem. Some of the reels I use are saltwater reels and they are almost too large to fit the clamps. I made it work with a little added pressure and when I work the reel I crank it slow and steady. Make sure you have the reel firmly locked in the clamps.Hope this helps.

on spinning reels, I take the off the spool of line from the box, and I tighten it up as I am loading the maching, adding torgue ti it fits snug on the spool, then I take the spool and put it some very hot water for about 5 - 10 minutes, to help with the line memory it as from box. Also make sure you are spooling it in thre reel the line should go the same directions as the bail turns, bail turns left as spinning ,line should untangle to the left. too much line on reel can cause it to flow off easyA:

With a spinning reel put the reel on a rod and the spool on the unit keep tour finger on the line for tension. This will soilve your problemA:

You are probably mounting your new spool of line so that the line comes off the spool over the top. Try mounting the new spool updise down so that the line comes off the bottom instead. Not all new spools of line are wound the same, so this may solve your problem with that particular spool of line.Answers

Spool holders are designed for the smaller spools, the larger spools having holes too big for the spool holders. A work-around is to put the large spool in a small cardboard box with some crumpled paper to create enough resistance. Put the box in front of the spooler and run the line down the center roller. Should work fine.

I would have to say yes it will. The base is pretty light. I think you may run into some difficulties where the line spool is held in place. I doubt it holds the really large spools of line. I believe I used the 1700 yard spool and that was fine.Q:

No, and that was one of my issues with it. It uses a standard battery operated stripper that is actually a separate unit that store in the base.

No, it will not return the line to the spool. If that's what you want to do then allow me to suggest that you mount the spool on a dowel rod and use a drill to replace your line on the spool. What I have done was to place a rubber band on the dowel rod then slide the spool on the dowel rod. Then on the other side of the dowel I wrapped another rubber band making sure it was up against the spool as tightly as I could get it. Then using a varible speed drill I slowly filled the spool. It's primitive but cheap and highly effective.A:
the stripper is a little tricky, it has two holes on it, enter and exit. You place the line thru the holes, whick slide beteen to rotatomg wheels that pinch it together, adn pull through, but you have to grab and pull the line out the other side and keep up.or the line could get sucked back into the machine and keep winding up. No! This will not spool old line to a spool. The stripper works like a die grinder. There is a hole on the end that you put the end of line throughand the line is stripped off the reel. I fed mine straight into a baggie for disposal.

No it wont put line back on the spool. The striper is used to take old line off the reel. You put the end of the line in one end and it takes it off. Its real simmple because there is an arrow showing withch end go's were.A:
The line stripper works by 2 rubber bumpers that basically grab the line and run the line off the reel. However the bumpers had a gap on mine and have a tough time constantly grabbing the line. Basically it kept slipping. Once I got it running line off and holding the line at the right angle it did a decent job. It will only remove the line from the reel.A:
The line stripper has two rounded rubber cylinders - you feed the line through, then press the butto. The motor turns the cylinders and quickly pulls line off the spool.

No, the line stripper strips the old line off of your reel and onto the floor into a mess of curly memory full line. But if you did put an empty spool on the spool holder and your reel with old line on it in the seat then you could spool it back onto the spool by hand but it would take hours.A:

yes it works with almost any reel, I have use micro lite spinning reels, I used closed faced spincasters, and on low profile and round baitcaiters, without a problem...its all about tightening the line down on the pools, with spring screws to you your desired tightness. Tie it off to reel, and slowly reel inand let it take its shape and keep pressure on it and reel it i.A:
