Because superline fishing is here to stay, Berkley designed their Lightning Rod Shock Series Trigger Rods to give anglers a rod specifically designed to handle today's superlines. The Lightning Rod Shock Series Rod's 1K Power Helix construction creates extra strength with a lightweight feel, and the Strike Amplifying Tip (S.A.T) blends fiberglass with graphite to produce for a slower-reacting tip that results in fewer lost fish. Diamond-polished aluminum oxide guides reduce friction, decrease wind knots and other line management issues while remaining lightweight and tough. The Lightning Rod Shock Rods feature a split-grip design that delivers more sensitivity and better balance with less weight, and a suspending reel seat keeps the reel from hampering vibration, ensuring maximum sensitivity.

These rods are clearly amazing. I have purchased a few of them and they work great. They are super quality and worthy of the Berkeley name.

I have the 6'6" medium action with a shimano citica 200e. I use braid sometimes, but mostly I use Yo-Zuri 12lb. hybrid. This rod is very sensitive, and strong. It can throw everything from 3/4 oz. jigs to weightless texas rigs or senkos with ease. It seems like BP can't keep any in stock, but whenever they have a 7' MH action I'm gonna jump all over it. Not to mention for $50 you can't find a nicer looking rod.

I bought the 7' model of this rod specifically to throw soft body swimbaits. I usually take every new rod I buy to a local pond and fish a variety of baits to see how the rod performs. I was pleasantly surprised to find this rod handled every bait I threw quite well. It was sensitive enough to fish a Senko...handled t-rigged worms quite nicely also...felt everything I dragged the bait across. I threw spinnerbaits and felt every pulse of the blade on retrieve and every crankbait wobble. When I caught fish the rod had plenty of backbone to set the hook and move fish. When fishing moving baits the tip was soft enough to not tear the bait out during hook set. I use 20lb. braid and a Pflueger Asaro reel with this set up. I have been using it exclusively for smaller swimbait applications. Iit works great too. This is one heck of the rod for the money. Pure Fishing and Berkley have really produced a great product. Wait until you see what Pure Fishing and Abu Garcia are introducing this year it fishing rods. Abu Vendetta rods
