Great Little Swimbait The title says it all, This bait is really good. The tail kicks with a lot of realism and it works well on both swimbait jigheads or swimbait screw-lock hooks. I think it performed a little bit better on the jighead though. I have a video on my YouTube Channel, BassFishin243, if you are interested in watching this bait in action. October 22, 2014
Good bait, Great Value For under 3$, the value of these baits shine. And while these are no trash fish (at 4 X the cost), these baits perform well in most swim bait situations. Overall the finish looks realistic and the bait is relatively durable. The trade off is a somewhat stiffer plastic that limits slow rolling action compared to other paddle tails. But again, other hollow bodies don't look quite this good. Two suggestions for better performance: 1) Boil the baits in water for a couple of minutes....this will significantly soften the plastic and give you better action 2) make sure to rig with screw lock under the lip (into the chin if you will) for the best action. You can't beat the value of these baits; they are worth a try. March 19, 2014
Rigged right, these are great swim baits VERY realistic swim bait. For the most natural action, these should be texas rigged with a weighted hook(weight under the belly).....making them unstoppably weedless, even in the heaviest cover. They are designed to have a slow, deliberate action. For more action simply clip off the vertical part of the tail, leaving only the paddle. 4 stars because the eyes tend to come loose. Throw some super glue in your tackle box to combat this. Great value for the money on the 3" size. March 15, 2014
This fish is sick I just got these sick fish in the mail, and let me tell u the name dose not lie. The best swim bait I own. January 18, 2014

Rigging

Details:
Just wondering the best way to rig these guys up ? Where it has the dorsal fin, not sure if the usual "texas style" will work.

A:
I use a # 5 weighted swimbait hook with screw lock. If you go to a #6 or a "beast" style, you may be right in that the hook with come out at the fin. With a regular #5 I don't have this problem. Make sure the screw lock goes UNDER the lip, into the chin.

Also, try boiling them in water for a couple of minutes...this softens the plastic and improves slow rolling action.

Yeah I don't think a Texas or Carolina (etc.) rig will work unless you rig the bait sideways - which is not a bad idea. You can also pop these pretty well on a heavy jighead, for example.

I just rig mine like a twister tail jig with the hook in front of the dorsal fin. I'm thinking of using a lighter jig head so it doesn't dive as fast for suspended fish.

For Texas rig, you need a deep belly hook. I use a 4/0 or 5/0 Owner Beast hook, unweighted.

Hopefully this will help you out a bit. I was also wondering the same question and did a little research of my own. With these baits you can run them weedless or with a standard jighead or best by using a Umbrella rig, texas or even carolina rigging.
