Berkley Havoc Grass Pig Softbaits
Worked Great 1st Time
I had a friend suggest using this Havoc. So I bought a package of them, and gave them a try this past weekend. I was fishing a small lake in Iowa and casting up against the shore. It rained in the morning and then later in the afternoon the sun came out and the temperature went up to 80. On the first cast I caught a fish to make the total for the day 36 (the biggest 20”). I used up all of the lures in the package and wished that I had bought more.

I purchased these a while ago and thought they were okay; but really didn't use them a whole lot. But now I have found a permanent use for them and love them. I use the 3-1/2 Jr. version as a trailer for my Chatterbaits and Swim Jigs. With either the 1/4 oz. mini chatterbait or a 1/4 oz. swim jig the size on these is perfect and the additional action it provides is unmatched and the price is certainly perfect as well. These hold up very well; I can get away with using only one or two of these per trip out on the water. Durability is A+; colors are perfect; the action is awesome and the price is "CHEAP". Do yourself a favor and start throwing these as a trailer.

Not totally impressed
I'm an avid swim jig and chatterbait fisherman and love using soft bodied swimbaits as trailers. Given the price, I had to try these. They work ok... At best. They're durability is poor. They get ripped up really fast, including when I fish them on a standard jig head for smallies. The tail does move, I just don't think its the right action. I've always been really pleased with the Trigger-X Slop Hopper, I'd highly recommend them for only $1 more. Bottom line: you get what you pay for. All said, these aren't bad for $3, but they're not going to invade my tackle boxes any time soon either

My go to lure
Love this lure, Pearl White and Watermelon Candy is my favorite. You can run them slow a long the bottom in the summertime and it never changes the action of the bait. Caught a lot of big fish on the Grass Pig and it takes a lot to shred these lures they are the longest lasting soft plastic baits I own.
