According to Berkley Bass Bait Pro Designer Mike Iaconelli, the Berkley Havoc Flat Dawg is not your average soft bait. Three special features give it an action like no other. First, a flat body shape catches more water as it falls, creating a more distinct fluttering and shaking action. Second, a bent tail helps activate tail movement—even with little or no weight. And third, small pits in the body allow the bait to have maximum quivering action when wacky rigged. (A wacky jighead is ideal when fishing the Flat Dawg in deeper or more vertical situations.) Hooking the jighead in the middle of the bait acts as a downward pivot point and helps make the ends of the bait come alive.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Finesseguy Easy on the salt
The salt content is too high in this bait. When hooked directly with a wacky hook it tends to tear very easily limiting the bait to one or two fish before replacement. Rigging with an O ring helps but even the 1/4" wacky ring tends to cut the bait.
I love the design and action for both wacky and drop shot, both using O rings. I add chartreuse color to tail and orange to the belly of the green pumpkin.

In contrast to the other review....this definitely does not fall faster than a Senko. That said, it does catch em.
I went to the lake and used these for the first time and rigged it wacky style.
I caught 7 bass in three hours while my partner caught 1 using different baits.
I caught a couple on beds and watched the action. MIT was awesome.
I am buying more.....
