REBATE Berkley® Gulp! Alive® Minnow
Looks ALIVE, tastes ALIVE and feels ALIVE - because your bait actually ''lives'' in a natural, super-charged GULP! solution! It's softbait in a bait bucket! Because Berkley's super-realistic, biodegradable Gulp! Alive Minnows actually ''live'' in a high-octane Gulp! solution, they absorb up to 20% more attractant. That's 20% more scent, more taste, more action and more reason for fish to snap them up! Each super-charged Gulp Alive Minnow disperses its potent scent like a blood trail in the water, and when the fish-catching is over, you can simply put the bait back in the bucket to recharge for another day! The Berkley Gulp! Alive Baits are sold by net weight and not by count. The 11.2 oz. bucket of 3'' Gulp! Alive Minnows will have approximately 36 baits, and the 12 oz. bucket of the 4'' Gulp! Alive Minnows will have approximately 22 baits.

Caught 3 huge catfish at a small lake. Simply rig it just like a live minnow under a float and leave it alone. If the cat's are hitting - they will nail this bait.

This is my 3rd year using Berkleys Gulp minnows. Wow, just about says it all ! I will never go back to live minnows again. A twitch and a pop is all I need to catch any species of fish on my lakes. Whether underneath a bobber or tightlined the fish come and get`em.

This stuff is great. I took it on a Canadian fishing trip and cought fish left and right. We caught bass, pike, and walleye, it is amazing. My two year old boy caught a 25 inch bass using it. Easy to use and very effective, thank you Berkley!!

I fish the Gulp Alive 3 and 4 inch minnows (black shad and emerald shiner) vertically over cover while river fishing for smallmouth bass. I usually use a 1/4 or 3/8 oz. drop-shot sinker on a 12-18 inch dropper under an Owner down shot hook (size 1 or 2) tied so the hook point is up. If the fish are there I usually get bites before my boat comes to rest.Top 1000 Contributor

I like to use a 1/8 oz round head jig and fish the gulp slow with a light jig action when fishing crappie and bass. When the white bass are on top feeding you use the same set up just speed up the retrieve and just jig the gulp about 1 foot under the water. I have caught many limits of white bass on the 2.5 and 3 inch gulps.I hope this helps.Good luck fishing.Answers

for drop shotting a 3" bait I like to use a size 1" Gamakatsu drop shot split shot hook, or an Owner Mosquito hook.Top 1000 Contributor

gulp alive # 1, I'd choose gulp over powerbait IF the same style is available for both, but this isn't as common as you'd think. Berkley is 90% of the softbaits I use in tournaments(all three varieties)Images for this Answer

I am just getting into trout fishing in north Georgia. Are these any good? How should I fish them?Answers
A:Â
I would thread them on with a 2" darning needle {with the eye of the needle 1/4 cut away} and a light split shot to get it down. A loop is put on the end of your line and pulled through the minnow and then hook on a double hook and pull this back so just the hook is exposed.A:Â
Caught 4 NICE trout last Saturday, 2 brookies, 1 browny, & a rainbow (opening day). 1 of my buddies used trout worms, & caught 2 nice rainbows. My other buddy used both trout worms & meal worms, & cought small perch, & 1 keeper brooky. I real them in slow, give them a jerk, let them fall a little, & repeat as necessary. I vary the speed sometimes, for a little change. I hook them right through the eyes, in one eye, & out the other. They cast like a dream, & hold up very well. I usually use a # 6 hook. If the river is a little fast, or I find myself snagging alot, I'll switch to a # 8 hook. That seems to help. Also have had lots of luck with bass with theses. I let them fall a little longer with the bass.Details:Â
if i buy how do i fish thme and what shul i buy to jig them and make the weedlessAnswers
A:Â
These can be fished a variety of ways. I mostly use the drop shot method, but the larger 4" minnow can be Texas rigged and fished like a fluke, or soft plastic jerkbait. They can also be put on a regular jighead and bounced, hopped, swam, or dragged across bottom. Texas rig for a weedless presentation or use a finesse wide gap hook or something similar with a weedguard... hope this helps, tight lines!Top 25 Contributor
A:Â
I think the best way to fish these lures is with a jerking retreive. Give the rod a little jerk, let the minnow drop, jerk and repeat all the way in. If you buy the bigger sized minnows, use the hooks you use with plastic swimbaits and rig these the same way: go through the nose and out underneath then put the point through the belly and barely out of the back, it is weedless.Details:Â
Does anyone else have this problem. I opened mine and i shut the lid as tight as possible, it just wont stop leaking.Answers
A:Â
When you first open the container, don not peel off the seal. use a knife or sharp object and cut a hole in the center of the seal big enough to grab your baits. this will stop the leaks. just never peel off the entire seal.OR, as an alternative, I've heard that the liqua bait bottles by Plano will hold any soft plastic that soaks in liquid without leaks.

After hearing of the leakage issues with Gulp Alive, I purchased some plastic food containers with screw-on lids from the grocery store. These containers are leakproof and allow you to split up the Gulp so if you were to knock one over while fishing, you wouldn't lose all the juice which is the key to Gulp Alive's effectiveness. Two years now and no problems with leaks!A:Â
Use a large baby food jar. Even if you do not have a baby it only cost a $1Top 1000 Contributor

They leak no matter what you do. I have used gulps for a few years now and found the best thing to do is get the lid on tight and try to keep the bucket upright. Great bait and worth the trouble.A:Â
Yes, mine leak constantly even with the foil insert still in the lid and you can't always count on keeping them upright in transport. I'm trying a piece of gasket materiel in the lid. So far so good. To fix other leaky containers I have wraped those foil inserts in plastic wrap and forced it back into the lid and ran a ring of silicone caulking in the lid then the insert and let it dry before putting the lid back on.A:Â
Did you leave the foil seal in the lid when you opened the tub? I carefully removed it and placed it into the lid and mine doesnt leak. Just a suggestion.Top 250 Contributor
A:Â
Yes, Mine also sometimes leak from the side where the handles are. It just happens when you tilt it. Hopefully they will fix this design flaw.4 years, 4 months ago
