  • Great multi-species bait
  • Terrific ice fishing and open water bait
  • Saturated with Berkley's powerful Gulp! Alive! attractant
  • 20% more potent than other panfish baits
  • Recharges in the jar
Berkley Gulp! Alive! Crickets make a great year-round, multi-species bait. Use Berkley's Gulp! Alive! Crickets when angling for walleye, crappie, bass, trout and other gamefish. Berkley Crickets' lifelike detail artfully mimics natural prey. They're supple, yet much more durable and easier to care for than live crickets. When jigged, the Berkley Gulp! Alive! Cricket's lifelike appendages flutter as it falls, enticing ravenous strikes and easy hook-ups.

Berkley's Gulp! Alive! Crickets look ALIVE, taste ALIVE and feel ALIVE--because your bait actually ''lives'' in a natural, supercharged GULP! solution! Effective in the heat of summer or through the ice in the dead of winter, Berkley's Gulp! Alive! Crickets absorb 20% more attractant, then disperse their potent scent like a blood trail in the water. And when the fish-catching is over, you simply put the bait back in its jar to recharge for another day. Size 1''. 2.1-oz. jar. Made in USA.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Results Was a little skeptical as I've been fishing live crickets my entire life but these things actually outfished the real things last week on a trip to Florida. I'm sold, and a heck of a lot easier to get on a hook! June 5, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by works great The Berkley crickets work great under a float on a number 8 hook. I have caught bluegill and crappie on this bait. I recomend not removeing the foil seal all the way. That way the jars dont leak. April 1, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not sure yet, but it doesn't look good. I have been on the water 6 times since the ice left the lakes. It is still early, however, I even while catching timidely feeding blue gill in deep water I have tried the cricket thinking that this would incourage more bites than my real wax worms. I have yet to catch any blue gill on this bait. I have only cought about 27 blue gill on real bait though since I've tried this product next to it. The product looks good, though I was unhappy with the lack of a brown realistic color in the crickets. I am still holding out hope since I hate messing with real crickets, it's just a pain to deal with them, but I usually turn on a school of panfish with real crickets quite easily. I will continue to try them as the water warms and the fish feed more, then I can post a more confident review. March 27, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Purchase ever Berkeley's Gulp Alive is wonderful and Crappie, Bass, Catfish and Bluegill (my type of fishing) love it. Great product!!!! August 30, 2011

It depends on how you rig it but for me I've gone 8 fish in a row without having to replace the cricket. It does get torn up but just hook it thru in a different spot, its just as good.

Then again I've had unlucky days where the fish manage to take the cricket and throw the hook after only a couple

You just can't beat a real cricket for panfish, I've never caught a smallmouth on one though. Crawfish baits and small quarter ounce in line spinners are the heat for smallmouth.

I've only used this in spring and it was a complete success. I usually use them on the exact rods you're speaking of. Both my 5ft ultralight and 7ft light pfleuger rods work well for this. I use 4 or 6lb line. I'm going to try it for fall and see how it works
