If the fish don’t see it, they won’t get spooked! That’s the accepted truth that spawned the first translucent superline for near invisibility underwater. Berkley's FireLine Crystal Line sets new standards for ultimate sensitivity, low visibility, and exceptional strength in situations that require a stealthy presentation. Color: Crystal. 1500 yard spool.

Rated 2.7 out of 5 by 18 reviewers.
Rated 1 out of 5 by Garbage This has to be the worst line I have ever used. It's stiff as can be, doesn't cast well, and has to be the most visible line underwater that i have ever seen. February 16, 2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by False Advertising If you happen to be fishing in a giant bowl of milk, this line may indeed be "invisible." If you fish in water, like I do, this bright-white line will be the most visible thing you've ever used. Berkley's claims for this product have no relation to reality. "Near invisibility underwater"? Perhaps compared to a nuclear bomb going off underwater, or for someone who is legally blind, but that's about it. If fishing has gotten too easy for you, and you want the added challenge of spooking all the fish you come across, this stuff will do the trick. February 15, 2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by crystal, dont think so I bought this line for my jig rod. I was using mono and doing pretty well but loosing a few fish in heavy cover. I have used braid line before and the strength and feel is great. I bought and spooled up this "low vis" line. Well its not anything like their ad says. I can see this line almost as far as I can pitch my 1/2 ounce jig. This line is highly visible and noticeably a lot less strikes when using this line. One day I made a pass on my favorite lake using this line, not one bite. turned around and used a clear/green mono line, caught five in the exact spots I had casted earlier. Dont buy unless you WANT to be able to see your line in the water. February 7, 2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointed This was my first time trying a 'superline' and I am not impressed. I love Berkley products and bought this line for a baitcast reel and its been nothing but trouble. About a week after having the reel loaded the line came off with a very tight spiral. I also didn't expect a product labeled 'crystal' to be bright white. January 23, 2011

Is it really invisible?

Details:
Fireline crystal is supposed to be a transleusent superline, but looking at it, it doesn't look too invisible. Is it actually transleusent under water? How is the visibility compared to monofilament or flourocarbon? Overall, should I get fireline crystal, or just regular fireline?

eh its kinda like having your cake n' eatin it too, there is no such thing as an invisible braid, if visibility is the biggest concern i go to flourocarbon, but unmatched strength to diameter ratio choose a braid..however if you dont like going home with black or moss green hands choose crystal..mono should be extinct

It's not invisible at all. Go powerpro and never look back. If you are looking for stealth, learn how to tie flourocarbon leaders

Crystal is not as advertised. I have used it and respooling with new dark line. Lot less strikes with this line. Will not buy again.
