  • Flawless performance on casting reels
  • Smooth feel, easy casting and durable
  • Ultra-sensitive and strong
  • Ideal for many applications

Designed for flawless performance on casting reels, FireLine Braid offers all the original FireLine characteristics that anglers love: smooth feel, easy casting, durable and ultra sensitive. The revolutionary construction of FireLine Braid makes it round, smooth, easy-to-cast, ultra-sensitive and strong, properties that keep the line from digging into the spool. Whether it's pitching bushes, trolling ledges or casting jigs, there are not much many applications where FireLine Braid doesn’t excel.

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 22 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good so fat Just started using this line (recommended by on line research). It is as tough as advertised, sinks slowly with light lures. But it is difficult to cut (impossible to snip with pliers). Better have a sharp knife for trimming after tying on a lure. May 13, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by best line ever! my brother used 30pound on is baitcaster and has had it for 2 years! so i went out to get some in moss green 40pound and all i can say is "best line ever" we fish for many types of fish bass, walleye, pike, muskie, laketrout, bluegill and more and this line is vary sensitive dosent fray and is thinner than most people think its great for tying knots! no probloms well worth the money the color hasent faded yet and it has great power December 4, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by horrible This line is very Very beep. Color fades and strands start separating. Line gets very weak after a while and snaps a lot. If you are planning on buying this line and if you already did donate it to the garbage can and get yourself some suffix 832 line. Ive used both in the 20lb test and suffix out performs fireline in every way. January 4, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Line This line is incredible. I recently purchased 50lb for my baitcaster and 30lb on my spinning. I was thoroughly impressed with its strength and ability to chop through weeds. I was fishing for pike with no leader for greater lure action and landed many fish and did not lose any lures. Finally I love braid because I have had 0 birds nests on my spinning outfits and they are easy to work out of baitcasters. Just press hard on your spool and reel in a few times. June 6, 2011

My research says a Palomar knot, but the improved clinch knot works fine. Just difficult to trim tails (line is tough).

I believe a palomar knot is what Berkley recommends. I use the 20lb test with 6lb fireline for leader on a carolina rig. I haven't had a single slip or break using a palomar.

I use this when Im fishing rocky dams. Always getting jigs hung up on rocks. I tie everything with an albright knot. Prolly a 12:1 ratio hangups to breaking off. I think its great around rocks. I use the 20 lb test.

The braid has a higher strength per diameter than fused line, though the fused tends to stand up better to abrasion.

I was wondering if this line had a lot of line memory. I use Berkley Triline a lot and it has no line memory what so ever so i was wondering if Berkely Fireline Braid was the same.

well, like any braid, it will have some memory, however, this fireline isnt bad at all for it memory, the roundness and smoothness of it, seems to keep it from having a remendous amount of memory, it will have a little more than mono, but it seems to have less than a lot of other braids.

suffix suffix suffix. i cant stress enough how bad this line is. i have used both lines. unfortunatly i bought 20 lb test fireline this year and put it on 4 of my rods. i've never been so disapointed in anything i ever bought i will never buy ANYTHING berkley again. i have snapped my line at least 30 times this year and a few times i didnt have a fish on just had a topwater strike on a frog, the bass missed, still snapped my line with the frog just floating there. i spent $100 on two spool of line and have now lost over $100 dollars worth of lures and who knows how many lbs. of largemouth. THIS PRODUCT SHOULD BE PULLED FROM THE SHELFS AND DISCONTINUED. by the way last year i used suffix braid and didnt snap it once, left it on one of my rods this year and still no break offs.

The braid should be fine on the mojo rod.

As for going past the line rating on your rod: you can, but this will most likely void your warranty.

A:
Braid has a higher strength to diameter ratio. Not all braid is the same but generally 30lb braid is equivelant in diameter to 8lb mono, 50lb braid is equivalent diameter to 12ln mono and so on.

A:
All line diameter is measured in inches (in the U.S.) and inches don't change. ever.

The average 20lb braid will have the same diameter as the avg. 6lb mono. 30lb braid and 8lb mono. 40lb braid and 10lb mono. 50lb braid, 12lb mono.

Most people will tell you that is you're rod is rated for 10lb test, match the diameter (so 40). But if your rod has a warranty, using a line heavier than the rating on the rod will most likely void your warranty.

Also, I think for bass 40, 50, 65lb braid is WAY overkill. I use 10-15lb braid on spinning reels and 30 on my baitcaster. Rarely will I have 40lb braid spooled up.
