great rod holders I have used several different rod holder systems now. This is definitely one of the best. has foam cut outs and a platic stopper to make sure things stay in place. October 13, 2014
Good Rod Holder The price is right and it does what it's supposed to do. Like others have said, it's quick and easy to mount in whatever way suits your purpose. The foam grips the rods tightly. I needed a looser grip, and I discovered a good sharp knife will easily trim the foam back to suit your needs, which is what I did. I just increased the size and depth of the "V" at the opening of each slot which made it easier to insert or remove the rods. Just be very careful though that you don't trim more than you need. I'm happy with it. September 25, 2014

If you are willing to screw into the liner or apply an adhesive yes it would work. It will not work out of the package though.

This really isn't the best or most secure rack for a truck. It won't hold the rods if you are off road

This should work great for your application on the hard shell liner. Be sure to thoroughly clean your liner surface as instructed by the product manual prior to installation.

I use it with my reels on my rods. It gets a bit crowded but if you wiggle here and there you'll get em in there.

The vertical holder was made for just rods, without reels. You may be able to store them with reels on, but they will be crowded and the reels may hang up on each other. Berkley makes one specific for combos, 38-421-988-00

I do not think this holder from Berkley is what you are looking for. There is one which attaches to screws in vehicle in four places with two straps running between each set of straps. This system works brilliantly. There are other more expensive ones you could also use which have suction cups etc..
