it is great at holding my poles it hasnt dropped any of them yet and i do have a few more poles i would get more holders if they was just a bit cheaper

This is the second one of these rod holders I've owned. They are very inexpensive and really do the job. If you don't want to spend a lot on a "fancy" rod holder, this one will work just fine.

This really isn't the best or most secure rack for a truck. It won't hold the rods if you are off road

what it is saying is it is purposely made for just your rods and if you want something else purchase something that you know is going to fit ur needs because i wouldnt want this since i prefer my reels attached

I use it with my reels on my rods. It gets a bit crowded but if you wiggle here and there you'll get em in there.

The vertical holder was made for just rods, without reels. You may be able to store them with reels on, but they will be crowded and the reels may hang up on each other. Berkley makes one specific for combos, 38-421-988-00
