Beretta® designed the A300 Outlander Semi-Auto Shotgun, coated with Realtree MAX-4®, specifically for goose and duck hunting. The A300 Outlander semi-automatic shotgun functions with Beretta's famous gas operated system, featuring a compensating exhaust valve that allows the shotgun to cycle a wide range of ammunition, from 2-3/4" field loads to 3" magnum waterfowl loads. A self-cleaning gas piston enhances reliability and ease of maintenance. The A300 Outlander breaks down into 4 major components, making it quick and tool-free to fieldstrip, even under adverse waterfowl hunting conditions. The stock, fore-end, barrel and receiver are coated with Realtree Max-4 camo, a blend in with cattails, millet, cornstalks, oak, and other plant life, offering maximum effectiveness without geographical limitations. The rugged, weather-resistant synthetic stock adjusts for length of pull and has an adjustable shim system that allows you to customize the drop and cast, so you have a semi-automatic shotgun that fits right, points instinctively, and swings fluidly on fast moving targets. A reversible safety adapts the A300 for left- or right-handed shooters. Sling swivel posts on stock and fore-end cap allow for carrying the A300 slung on your shoulder while carrying hunting gear. The barrel of the A300 is chrome lined, and uses the standard Beretta Mobilchoke® system (comes with F, M, and IC). The barrel comes with a ventilated rib and bead sight, and the receiver is grooved to accept aftermarket optical sights. The Beretta A300 Outlander is a great value for a versatile, ultra reliable Semi-Auto Shotgun that's perfect for hunting waterfowl, as well as turkeys, and upland game. Made in USA.

outlander i had a 870 super mag before this and i couldnt be happier i bought this one. Best semi shot gun you can buy for that price. it s a night and day difference, my buddy has the black eagle 2 and only difference for appearance and feel is the eagle is little lighter not by much though! but over all outlander A300 is a bird crippler! Great intro semi-auto shotgun Wanted my first semi-auto shotgun and the A300 was on my short list. Used it for dove and quail with great success. Would highly recommend this to anyone that wants a semi-auto shotgun at a reasonable price point. December 16, 2014
Just shot for the first time I just shot a shotgun for the first time. This gun was a great experience. I honestly have nothing to compare it too but from a novice perspective it is easy to load, easy to shoot and I'm hoping easy to clean. November 22, 2014
Great shotgun Great shotgun with good balance and camo finish. This gun goes to your shoulder like it's part of you. Very Impressed and for the money can't ask for better. My son was looking at a higher priced gun and now he going get a Beretta A300 Outlander. Thank you Bass Pro and Thank you Beretta May 27, 2014

A:
Per the manufacturer, Yes, these are evolutions of the old AL391 Urika shotguns. They run just as well. Yes, there is a break in before it will cycle any target loads. 100 shells of heavy field loads. Thank you!

I would have to say yes, as most 12 gauge shotguns do. Usually 3 and 3.5 inch shells, I have shot both out of it.
