Bringing modular design to a pump action shotgun, the Benelli 12 Gauge SuperNova Pump Shotgun can transform to deliver high performance shooting year round. With an optional SteadyGrip™ stock, this 12-gauge shotgun can be transformed into a high-performance turkey gun or mount a fully-rifled slug barrel for tack-driving accuracy on deer. Giving you the sense of having several Benelli shotguns in one, the SuperNova even offers a barrel option with rifle sights for home defense and a SuperNova Tactical fitted with a ghost-ring rear sight and pistol grip. (Additional barrels and grips sold separately).
At the heart of this new pump gun is a lightweight steel skeleton framework over-molded with a high-tech polymer for a super-light, super-strong gun that is almost completely impervious to any weather condition. Just as tough inside, the SuperNova sports dual-action bars and two-lug rotary bolt head that locks up steel to steel inside the barrel, giving you a gun that is rock solid to the core.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Weapon I picked up a supernova about a year ago now. It sees time doing skeet, sporting clays, and just general shooting. Got it because the build quality felt better than the newer 870s, and it filled the same role. I haven't been disapointed. The action is smooth, there's decent adjustability on the stock. Have never had a failure to feed or eject, i'm at about 500 rounds on it. My only complaint was the rifle sights that came on mine. I quickly replaced them with some hi-viz sights. Not a big deal, but one of those things I wish they'd just do out of the box. Sights will just depend on the barrel on your model, so pick one you like, but the choice in my area was limited. Overall it's been great. Very reliable, came with chokes and wrenches that seem to work pretty well. I'm newer to shotgun, but have held my own in skeet and sporting clays against others using nice over/unders and semi-autos. Not bad for a pump-gun. It cycles intuitively, when I'm shooting two shots, I really don't even notice I'm cycling the gun in between shots, it just happens. I think that says something about the design of the gun. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Job Benelli I bought this gun recently and I am very impressed with it's function, simplicity and design. On the function, having put over 500 shells through it I have not encountered a single jam or misfeed and sometimes I have to check to make sure that it actually fed it's so smooth (it always did). The chokes and spacers it comes with are fantastic and I was shooting 24s and 25s on the range. The simplicity of it might be my favorite thing, the ease of operation and cleaning is unmatched this gun requires one tool to take it apart and that is the magazine cap, I can take it apart and clean it thoroughly and have it reassembled in less than half an hour which is probably part of the reason it functions so great. Finally the design, the design is well made (it is a benelli after all) and sturdy, the camo pattern is put on well but my favorite thing about the design is the trigger guard, it's design and the safety positioning defies most other shotguns and it is definitely positive. If you are looking for a great, do everything gun then look no further. February 19, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing gun! I purchased this gun roughly around 2 1/2 years ago mainly for turkey hunting. I killed 3 turkey last April with this gun. It is an outstanding and a great quality gun. I have never had a jam or anything. Easy to clean. This shotgun was my first one. I would greatly recommend this for a novice and even for a skilled hunter. I still use my Super Nova. It's my number 1 gun choice. IT will never let you down! Has a smaller kick than a regular 12 gauge due to the ComforTech Recoil reduction system. Even has an enlarged trigger guard for gloved hands! January 25, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Purchase I bought this shotgun about 6 months ago because of the Benelli rep and how it felt in my hands... I have since put a few thousand rounds through it. It has never failed me once. This thing is the best gun I own. I will buy another Benelli for sure - it's that good. May 28, 2013

A:
As long as you get a choked barrel, yes.

The tactical models come with fixed cylinder barrels, so no chokes on those.

Here in Texas we can only have 3 in the gun and with a 3.5 shell length capacity a plug for 3 and 3.5 will allow 4 2 3/4" which would be a no no during dove season. I have shot 2 automatic benellis and loved them but they are out of my price range and this looks like the gun for me.

There's not a "left-hand model" that I know of, but everything on it is pretty ambidextrous. My roomate shoots lefty, and has no problem using it. The only issue will be shells ejecting across your line of sight. But on mine at least, they go more sideways and forward, so they at least aren't hitting you.

The stock can be shimmed with some included shims that make it fit a lefty a little better than the initial setup.

A:
No, it does not come in a left-handed mode. The only Benelli guns that come in a left-handed mode are the Super Black Eagle 2, M2 Field, and Montefeltro. I have SuperNova and I shoot it with my left hand because I am left eye dominant and it has worked just fine for me.
