The Benelli M2 Field is the workhorse of the semi-auto Benelli shotguns, giving you Benelli performance with the speed of a thoroughbred. Light, nimble, but ruggedly built, the M2 12-gauge shotgun is built around the ultra-reliable Inertia Driven® mechanism. This proven system allows the M2 to digest nearly any cartridge, from 2-3/4'' target loads to the heaviest 3'' magnums. Benelli engineers have also adapted the ComforTech® recoil system for the M2 to reduce felt recoil by up to 48% and cut muzzle climb by 15%. This combination puts the shooter back on target up to 69% faster than comparable semi-automatic shotguns. The M2 is not only faster, but with the ComforTech system, it may be the most comfortable shotgun you will ever shoot.

Rated 5 out of 5 Ultra Reliable
I've quite literally gone through thousands of rounds with this gun. I have immediate access to land I can shoot clays on. I would shoot this gun three to four days out of every seven day week. I went through at least a hundred rounds during each session. It didn't matter whether I was shooting expensive shot shells with high brass, or the cheapest shot shells I could possibly fine. The gun never, ever, failed to cycle; period. I was able to shoot my own reloads through the gun without issue too. I've shot a number of different semi - auto shotguns by numerous manufacturers. Reliable cycling is one of the most prevalent issues; especially with light target loads. I put on a Nordic Comp 10 shot magazine extension with this thing too. Still no problems. It's simply an incredible gun. In addition to it's never fail reliability, the cyclic rate is incredibly fast too. This is a gun you won't outrun.

I have a benelli sbe 2 and after purchasing my m2 it kinda makes me wonder why I even have the sbe 2. I know each gun patterns differently even with the same choke, but my m2 is flat out impressive. This gun just fits me right and when shouldering and shooting it, its like it is a part of me. Some will argue that the recoil is absorbed by the comfort tech stock but this gun still has a little more sting than a gas operated gun. This gun shoots about a 70/30 pattern which I really like so I can aim right under what I am shooting at. If it were between this and the sbe 2 and you weren't gonna need to shoot 3.5's then I would say definitely get the m2. Outstanding shotgun!!

I bought this gun for sporting clays, skeet, and 3 gun sporting competitions. It cycles flawlessly, is light and an overall great shotgun. The only negative is that extra barrels are expensive.
