This is my first kayak paddle so after reading reviews, I decide on the BB Sunrise fiberglass 230 length. I also wanted the yellow paddle color so as to be seen on a lake where boaters are obsessed with speed. I have used the paddle three times and am very happy with the purchase. It is light weight and easy to take apart. Very good purchase.

by NBYaker Just one thing.....
Bought two Ascend FS12 kayaks for my wife and myself and got her the BB Sunrise Glass Paddle, and got myself the BB Angler Paddle for $20 more- just to have one paddle on the water with the retrieval notch in case we needed it. The paddles are essentially pretty close to identical, save 3 slight differences. 1: The hook retrieval notch is ONLY on the angler paddle, not on the Sunrise Glass paddle. 2: The Sunrise Glass paddle has a slightly different shape than the angler paddle, but it's barely noticeable. 3: the shaft of the angler paddle is smooth and has measurements on it to record fish lengths- the Sunrise Glass paddle shaft is "ribbed", with no measurements. When I got the paddles, I thought the ribbed shaft would improve grip, but either it's the way my wife paddles, or its those ribs that gave her blisters in the corners of her hands. Either way, just wanted to let fellow customers know and make their own decision. Other than those "preferences", theyre both decent paddles and worth the $$$.

Rated 1 out of 5 by eyeyak Snapped on first trip
I know there can be a lemon in any item and I must have gotten it. I read the other reviews on this paddle and they were very positive. I took this on a river trip and used it to push off a rock and the plastic paddle end snapped in half. I didn't push that hard enough to break it. Bass Pro customer service was awesome and will be replacing it for me.
