Benchmade Griptilian Knives
I bought one of these knives for my son-in-law that was deployed to Iraq. He loved the knife because it was lightweight, easy to open with one hand, could be carried almost anywhere because of the side clip, and was extremely sharp right out of the box. He convinced me to buy one for myself. I would like to add that it also seems to be holding that sharp edge longer than any other folder that I have ever owned.

The full sized Griptilian is a robust, heavy duty work knife, capable of tackling big chores. Its size can be intimidating in urban areas, and in that case, the 2/3 size Mini Grip should be considered. The Zytel handle is strong and light and the AXIS locking mechanism is very strong and reliable. The large blade has a nice grind and its 154CM steel has good edge retention and is very tough. It is also very corrosion resistant and easy to sharpen. This is a great knife!

To begin with I bought the non serrated blade. It was razor sharp out of the box and the handle has a very safe feel to it. I was concerned that it would be hard to sharpen with the D2 steel so after cutting a few things it became a little dull and with just a few passes over my sharpening stone it was back to factory edge. Great Knife!
