Beartooth™ Recoil Pad Kits are an easy way to fix many ill-fitting shooting situations and increase comfort. Comes with a 1/4", 3/8", 1/2" and 5/8" foam insert allowing the shooter to precisely achieve their desired stock length. Reduces hard hitting recoil up to 40%.

Instant Length of Pull The Beartooth Recoil Pad Kit allows you to modify your length of pull to fit the clothing you're wearing. If you are wearing light clothing, insert a thick pad which will lengthen the length of pull and reduce recoil; heavy, cold-weather clothing, insert thinner pads or even no pad at all to shorten length of pull - the thick clothing will absorb plenty of recoil. The pad does not slip down; retains its shape well. If you shoot in all kinds of weather and thicknesses of clothing, the Beartooth Recoil Pad will allow you to shoot well in all kinds of conditions. Also, it slips up into your shoulder well and does not hang up on your clothing! December 12, 2006
It's a beautiful thing You can't go wrong with this, and if you REALLY want recoil protection, you can use more than one insert for extra cushioning. If you're a big guy, this is a MUST, because it also assures proper fit for your gun, matching your arm length and reach. And for a little guy like me, it even fit perfectly on my 870 20 gauge Youth model, and allowed me to perfect its fit. January 31, 2015
Shoulder Saver I have a 30-06 that had a recoil pad on it, but the old pad did not help my shoulder at all. I was only able to shoot about 10 rounds before it would start to make my shoulder sore. I put this new pad on and I was able to shoot about 25 rounds and my shoulder was not sore at all after. I like how I can decide how thick I want the padding to be for my own comfort level. Great Product Fits my new Marlin 22 rifle perfectly, with good flexibility in length & recoil adjustment. Very comfortable feel and finish! August 20, 2012

A:
As it says in the description, it's a series of foam pads shaped like the butt of a rifle. You place the one(s) you need inside the heavy elastic polyester-type sleeve and pull it up on the end of your gun like a sock.

I have never tried it. I suppose it would. It would easily fit over a pad mounted directly to the butt plate.
