Good Purchase This recoil pad wasn't my first choice. Luckily, my first choice wasn't available. I tried this pad with doubts. My goal was to move the weapon forward. The layers of pads gave me the ability to adjust the stock just like I like it. I now own 2 of these. May 13, 2014
No miracle cure, but sure helped Bought this hoping to tame some of the wicked steel butt-plated recoil of my Mosin Nagant. Worked like a champ. This thing is still a mule, but it's a tolerable mule now. Only disadvantage is the pad squirms a little on the Mosin, but I didn't expect it to fit perfectly on an 80 year old Russian rifle, either. good purchase I have used this product and it works very well i used it on a 243 rifle which the recoil is not much but i used it for extending the stock because the butt did not fitmy arm properly works great October 3, 2013
A good deal The Bass Pro's product description was very help full I had the confidence it would fit may 5 1/4" Remington model 700 30-06. Having the thinner pads is a great idea to build up or down as required to get me beyond ten rounds pain free. The camo version actually looks cool to. August 3, 2013

A type of neoprene material with smooth fabric on the outer side. The kit has layers that can be installed for the perfect fit and amount of padding.

As it says in the description, it's a series of foam pads shaped like the butt of a rifle. You place the one(s) you need inside the heavy elastic polyester-type sleeve and pull it up on the end of your gun like a sock.

I have never tried it. I suppose it would. It would easily fit over a pad mounted directly to the butt plate.

Probably somewhat too large but it can be easily trimmed down to the right size.
