These boots are my 2nd pair and if they are as good as the first pair I could not ask for anything more. They are comfortable, easy to get on and off and durable. My 1st pair lasted for over 5 years and were still waterproof. I wore them 6 days a week for 12 hours per day.

I was a Fire Fighter/ Construction worker for 17 Years. The max I got out of any Boots were 6 months. I worked for a ship yard in a warehouse and fire fighter for 13 months with one pair of Bates Ultra Light Extreme Boots ware them up to 18 hours a day. Lighter than all other boots and some shoes. My last pair had a carbon fiber toe much better than any steel toe boot. These boots Last

These boots are extremely comfortable. Very cool in hot weather, no break in required, grips pavement very well, and light.

As a biker, I've got a lot of requirements in a boot, and I'm hard on them. My last set, sold by a major motorcycle brand and full leather, although VERY solid and protective, was a pain to walk in for any sort of distance. Heavy, clunky, and painful after a while, so this time around, I started looking for an option that would provide the same ankle support/protection, a similar look, but a better fit for my foot. After the reccomendation of a couple of folks and reading reviews all over the 'net, I dropped by the local BassPro retail store, tried some on and bought them. I'm 1 week in, now, and they have started to break in, and WOW! Lightweight for sure, but they still feel sturdy! The lace up option helps me get a true fit, then the side zipper makes it a dream to get on and off. And the comfort? They're almost as comfortable as my favorite pair of tennis shoes, and walking has proven to be much more comfortable than the standard boots most of us 2 wheel fanatics use. :)
The true test will come in the longevity, as with the lightweight build, I'm still a little skeptical. For the price, I'll cross my fingers for 2 years + and will come back and edit the review with pertinent information.
So far, though, Bates has made me a believer in their boots!
