Bass Pro Shops® XTS® Rod Socks
- Friction-reducing expandable nylon mesh
- Slips easily over your rod to protect it
- Keeps high-tech line guides and inserts from becoming scratched
- Extends life of rod and line
- Won't work with 'micro-guide' rods, small guides will poke through the mesh
Note: The Black XTS Rod Sock will not fit all 8’ rods, fit will depend on the length of the rods handle. Actual length of the Black Rod Sock is 5’7”, measure your rod from tip down before ordering to be sure the rod sock will cover all your guides adequately.

I love to use these rod socks on all of my rods. They are best used to store your rods in the box and to get them out with ease. I did find that hooks get caught up in them a lot but other than that great product.

...like...i have one of the red ones on my Zebco Omega combo along with a red reel cover...
...it is the way to bounce...!!...slips right over the rod and the reel cover being red helps identify the rigg...
i am glad to have this part and i would score another if the need arose...digg..

I have eight of these rod socks and only half are the proper length for the rods they are on. I fish freshwater casting & spinning rods from 6'-6" to 7'-9" and these socks would be perfect if there was a technique for shortening to fit rod length. I was considering using duck tape to set the length and cutting off the excess and then either melting the edge with a candle flame or just coating the edge with CA glue to seal. If BPS would publish a technique to customize the length, they would increase sales of these rod socks 10 fold.

I have 2 of the black ones for casting rods. Same part number, etc and there's about a foot or more difference in their length. One of them is about 6' and the other is about 7' long.Top 50 Contributor

I can tell you that the Red Ones are about 7 ft in length. I have them on my 6'6" Baitcasters and there's about 6 inches left at the tip. The yellow one is about the same, except it's for spinning rods. Hope this helps1 of 1
