Rated 5 out of 5 by youngbassfisherman excellent bait
I caught 6 bass on my first 5 cast and my 5th cast I caught 2 at once. One hit just as the bait hit the water and as I reeled him in another hit it and I had 2 fish at the same time. It very good to use in about 3 to 6in of water

I bought this because it looked great and it was priced reasonably however its not an easy walk the dog lure, it stands perfectly straight up and down seems to be good for twitching but takes practice to get the proper action .

A super surface lure; great action unlike any other surface lure. Great variety of colors to choose from. I prefer the Hickory Shad (number 30 in catalog0, but also use Tennessee Shad (59), Aurora (63) and Chartreuse Silver (65). I catch largemouth and stripers with the Pencil Plug mainly; but tend to hook spotted bass, bluegill, shellcrackers and even a large longnose gar once! The only bad things about the Pencil Plug is a weak clear-coat finish ( colors get removed easily) and the worst hooks I have ever encountered on a lure! The hooks can stain the lures finish overnight if wet. I immediately change too some good Eagle Claw trebles. Wish they came with decent hooks to begin with. Still the best surface plug i have ever used...it sits kind of funny in the water when at rest but when it moves the fish explode on it! Friends I fish with go crazy when I start pulling in one fish after another...lucky for them I carry extras of the ones I like! I recommend getting out and grabbing some before everyone discovers them and the price goes up! Bass Pro Shops XTS Speed Lure Pencil Plug; get some now...you will fall in love with them.
