Bass Pro Shops XTS Expert Tournament Series Stainless Steel Tools - 6'' Multi-Function Pliers
Last long time
I have the old version of this, the blue ones. I have used them for a long time now and several times a week. They have held up through catfish crappie and bass and also being thrown back and forth to the ones I fish with. They are very good quality and very duable and will last for years in your boat or banged around on the shore. I fish several times a week and put things through the worst treatments the can and I also do take very very good care of my things. I oil my reels every year and keep my takle very organized and keep things separate just so they can last for years and not scratch up each other.

Best Bang for the Buck
These pliers have proven to be much higher quality than I had expected, given the price point. They are well balanced, tightly designed and ergonomic even in the cold. Spring loaded, one-handed operation is a must and this function works flawlessly. I have not been able to witness it's corrosion resistance in salt water conditions over time, although what I will say is that even my "high quality" pliers of yesteryear that boast "Stainless Steel" had the ability to rust out in a matter of a year as well. Judging from the finish on the BPS pliers, I have high hopes for them.

Simple. Does What It Does.
Honestly, I wasn't expecting too much when I bought these pliers. I needed a pair and I needed it quick.
For the price, these are the best pliers I've ever owned. Went on a 4-day trout trip up to Northern California and everyone used these and commented how great they were. Love the slight spring action on them. Nice and compact for the local lakes.

Not what was expected
I purchased theses thinking "it's a basspro brand. It has to be good." Not the case here. The plier "teeth" don't line up with each other and has trouble gripping smaller hooks. It is however ok for big hooks. That's about it. The Rapala version of this is much better and has more functions.
