Strange! This lure in different. The first cast of this i got a big strike. That was it! I notice that the bass tend to follow this more without hitting it because the body sinks rather then floats. The buzz blade gives this some real action topside but the trailer sinks when you pause it. I reccomend switching to a floating trailer of some sort. This lure also does not do well with any vegetation. The blade stops spinning and then the whole entire lure is out of control. I would reccomend this for the reason that this is a totally different type of lure with a strange action that has a lot of promise. May 26, 2008
Great Lure I use it like a frog and fishes get crazy. With this simple hook is ideal for water with vegetation. December 8, 2014
Best Lure Ever I couldn't disagree more with the other reviews that I read. I have fished this lure all around vegetation and inadvertently smacked a few trees. I haven't had a single issue with it getting tangled in vegetation, nor have I had anything on it break. This is my "go to" lure, when I'm getting few, if any bites, I tie this on and without fail, have always caught a fish within the first 3 casts. I have fished numerous waters and always the same outcome. As for the bites, I haven't had to set the hook a single time, because the fish hit it harder than anything I have ever fished. On more than one occasion I have even had the bass hit it so hard, that they breach. In short, best lure I have ever fished with in my life. April 12, 2010
Looks Good But ......!!!!!! First time out with this lure the action looked good. Several fish came up and bumped it. No big strikes. Then I noticed the blade had 2 flaps broken off. I did not smash it against anything. Just broken off for no apparant reason. Threw it out later that day. Save your money on this gimmick. Maybe if they improve the blade to aluminum instead of plastic it would be better. April 2, 2009

It's not necessarily too big but if you're in a good area for smallmouth you're probably better off throwing a popper or buzzbait
