  • Feather-light 60-million-modulus Powerwall™ IM9 graphite blank
  • Diamond weave carbon fiber wrapped butt section
  • Fuji® aluminum oxide guides
  • Durable clear-coat finish
  • Ultra-premium-grade cork grips
  • PowerHump® handle
  • Full-contact, Soft Touch reel seat
  • Available in travel rod model
Why call them Extreme? The word “Extreme” is somewhat overused these days, so with these rods, we’ve tried to stay true to the official definition, which is (according to Webster’s Dictionary) “exceeding the ordinary, usual, or expected.” We have packed every possible ultra-high-end feature into the strongest, most profoundly sensitive package, and still kept your investment under $100!
Here’s what you get: We start out with an immensely powerful yet feather-light 60-million-modulus Powerwall IM9 graphite blank, then wrap the butt section with a new diamond weave carbon fiber to enhance lifting power. We top the blank with virtually frictionless, mirror-polished Fuji aluminum oxide guides, and we finish the blank with the most durable clear-coat available. The grips are turned from ultra-premium-grade cork, with our exclusive PowerHump handle to aid in balance and enhance fish-turning power. The full-contact, Soft Touch reel seat puts your fingers directly on the blank so you can feel even the softest bite. The result is a fishing rod that is farthest removed from the ordinary, that is anything but the usual suspect, and that far exceeds what you expect from a rod at this price point. By definition, these rods truly are extreme! Three piece travel rods include cordura covered travel case and nylon rod sock.

PowerHump Handles:
Our specially contoured, premium cork handle design gives you enhanced leverage and an increased sense of confidence during the battle!

Fuji Aluminum Oxide Guides:
Polished to a mirror-like, friction-free finish. Extremely durable; precisely spaced for perfect line flow.

Full Contact Soft Touch Reel Seat:
Lightweight, rock-solid reel seat locks your reel in place, and the blank-thru construction puts your fingers in direct contact with the blank for the utmost vibration transmission.

Rated 5 out of 5 by power hump cork handle Love the grip on the BPS rods. I've got fairly large hands and the size of the cork with the power hump are perfect for my grip and very comfortable and controlling. Like the rods much better than the more expensive other brands. Only improvement I could see is the addition of a series of BPS bait casters with MICRO GUIDES< that would be a nice alternative option> January 8, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice Rod I really like this rod , it light, sensitive and I personally prefer a cork handle. I would like to see BPS reduce the width of the handle , the BPS Power Hump concept makes the handle a little bulky, don't get me wrong the rod is still great but it could be even better with a thinner cork handle. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great rod! I've had 2 of these for a few years now, and just put another one on my Christmas list. The light weight of the rod is unbelievable given how strong it is. November 24, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by 7' Med Fast 2pc - Awesome worm rod I was looking for a good worm rod; my Shimanos are either too heavy and thick (they feel like a club) or softer and better for cranks and spinnerbaits. I was trying to justify an Avid or a Crucial, but just couldn't. I found this rod while browsing with a C-note burning a hole in my pocket, and am extremely impressed with the sensitivity, backbone, and stiff action. I would even go so far as to say it is an X-Fast action; as stiff or stiffer than my Clarus worm and jig rods. Plus, is is very light (IM9 graphite), has a nice small diameter, Fuji guides (!), nice finish, and a decent reel seat that won't come loose all the time. Highly Recommended. I just wish they made a lighter action in a 7' 2pc; I'd buy it in a heart beat. I am very thrilled with my purchase. It is a fantastic value and an awesome worm rod. November 14, 2013

I tend to fish on the pier of texas city and galveston's seawolf pier and i was just wondering about this rod's durability and how well would it handle medium sized reds and everything else you might catch from the piers? I was thinking of using it with the Penn® Fierce™ Saltwater Spinning Reels FRC4000 with braid line. Will a 15 lb test line with a 20 lb flurocarbon line be fine?

Not at all. 6'6" ML is definitely the right model for the dropshot technique. It would also work well for a split-shot rig, which can be just as deadly as the shaky head rig.

For lighter crankbaits, however, I would highly recommend the 7' ML BPS Crankin' Stick (baitcast rod). I'm talking about baits weighing between 1/8 oz. and 3/8 oz.; they do make lighter crankbaits (e.g., 1/16 oz.), but those are usually designed for species of fish other than bass. The added length helps you toss those lighter lures further, and the Crankin' stick is specifically engineered for the job (blend of various materials besides just graphite). Plus, they usually go on sale several times each year for $60. Tight lines!

This rod is excellent for bass. My recomendation is to use lighter line, 6lb-8lb during the cool-cold months and heavier line, 8lb-10lb during the warmer months. To give you an idea I caught a 10lb stripper on 8lb , using the same rod you have. See pic

The older models with the solid cork handle have an unscrewable butt cap, but the new, split handle models don't.

I have this rod and have a Daiwa Exceller 2500 reel on it. The reel is the older model; 4.7:1 gear ratio so it has plenty of torque. This rod is made to throw heavier baits so I would suggest a reel with plenty of torque and a good drag. I don't have a Shimano reel, but I can recommend BPS Pro Qualifier, Pflueger Supreme and Abu Garcia medium size reels for this rod.

No clue. You would have to break a $100 rod to answer this question. No rod is rated for how many pounds it will hold before it breaks. At least 10 pounds
