The suction cup that was supposed to hold the line winder to a table or other clean flat surface was defective. I was an Engineer in the plastic injection molding business and the suction cup was a short or incomplete shot. It could not create suction do to its nonconforming surface. I had to remove the suction cup and purchase a replacement cup.

For the XPS Line Winder, how do you know which way to put the spool on to prevent line twist with spinning reels?
Answers
A:Â
for baitcasters, the line should come off the spool the same direction it is going on to the reel. In other words, pull the line off the top of the spool toward you and directly onto your reel spool. For spinning reels, the spool usually lays label up with the line coming off the right side of the spool as the spool turns clockwise. First, close the bail by HAND, (do not use the reel handle.)Reel a few turns onto your spool then relax the tension, and see if the line twists up or lays relatively relaxed. If it twists, turn the spool over and try again. Always keep tension on the line for either kind of reel as you spool up. There are good videos on youtube also if you need a visual.A:Â
label side down and reel rotation should be same the winding spool. There are directions with the winder.1 of 1
