Reserve capacity is the number of minutes a battery can maintain a useful voltage under a 25 ampere discharge.
The higher the minute rating, the greater the battery's ability to run lights, pumps, inverters, and electronics for a longer period before recharging is necessary.
The 25 Amp. Reserve Capacity Rating is more realistic than Amp-Hour or CCA as a measurement of capacity for deep cycle service.

I have a 12 foot Sevlyor 12 foot Fish Hunter inflatable raft. I take this raft sometimes on ponds and lakes but more often I take it on long fishing trips on a couple different rivers in my area. The first battery I had bought in the Bass Pro Shop power series ws the 24 pound model XPSAU1H. This battery left me stranded twice on the river as I had lost track of time while fishing and went out too far for too long. Last month I bought the 53 pound model XPSA24M. Have been out twice with that now, the last time being out for 9 hours, down the Occoquan River in Northern Va. and into the Potomac, stopped on an island in the Potomac, cleaned and filleted all the fish I caught, loaded back up, fished all the way back up the river, stopped a riverside resteraunt and had a drink and a bite to eat, and all the way back up to the ramp I started out at. Love this battery. And although I still keep my old model on the raft as a back up, I feel like I won't ever need it. I wish it had a more rounded design, but I put a couple floatation devices around it, and lean against it so that it doesn't cause much of a strain against my raft.
