I received this product today to use dragging tubes on the bottom of lake Erie. Good concept but the first two that I tried to rig pulled the weedless wire from the led using the supplied tool. Bad design. The wire should be wrapped around the hook body to eliminate this problem.

When I first read reviews of these tube-jig heads, I was a bit skeptical but needed something that wouldn't hang up in nasty rip-rap with every single cast. So, I took a shot. At first, I wasn't really impressed - the holes created in the tubes for the hook eye and the weedguard seemed so close to each other that the head of the tube would tear easily. I then realized that all I had to do was put the weedguard through the same hole in the tube as the hook eye, with the hook eye in between the two weedguard arms. Now, just one hole. However, when I took 'em out to the lake, they got bit just fine but weren't hooking fish. That was when I realized that the weedguard needs to NOT go underneath the barb, in which case it catches when you set the hook. To fix that, all I had to do was reform the weedguard a bit so that it rests just against the very tip of the hook. Since then, with those two fixes, these heads have been fantastic going through both wood and rock, saving time and resulting in more fish. Please, Bass Pro, keep making these heads!
And, of course, the Gammie hooks are awesome.
