Yes, this is a heavy lure, but you don't have to reel fast to keep it on top. A consistant reeling in is all you need to do to keep it on top of the water, you can go as slow as you want...just don't stop. The only downside is losing the feet to a snakehead, need a way to replace them! Overall, it is an awesome lure.

...not a good part...
...like...i had baught this with the impression it was a surface bait...i was sadly mistaken...ONLY...after i removed the weight and put just enough to rattle was there even a tiny chance of this part staying on the surface...
***this part is to be avioided...not worth the funds***

I bought this frog with "I like that theory" in mind. Boy was I disappointed. If you fish this frog in the traditional sense, it will sink. You have to keep the speed up and really work the rod for this frog's action to shine. Unfortunately, the speed you have to fish this frog and the fact that you will have to be on a really, really aggresive bite, will keep this frog in the boat. It will be staying in my frog box, but will probably not be used again.
