Our Bass Pro Shops® XPS® Tungsten weights are now insert-free to allow greater sensitivity and easier line threading, particularly of thicker diameter lines. Environmentally safe, lead-free weights are 95% tungsten and 5% nickel. Since tungsten is much heavier and harder than lead, you can downsize your offerings, keep contact with the bottom, and increase sound attraction! Our bullet shaped Worm Weights slip through cover naturally, with a concave base to cradle the worm in place.

TOUGH WEIGHTS What i look for in tungsten bullet weights is durability, main this i don't want mt paint coating to chip no matter how aggressively i fish. Also these weights have no insert which makes it complete. Buy this tungsten only this will out fish the paint coating on strike kings bullet tungsten's any day. Also i fish a lot of concrete structure when makes my weights chip hard-core, these weights will last all day with paint coating. you can fish it anywhere!!! April 6, 2011
Tungsten weights Ok, it is just weights, but so much smaller than lead in the same weight. Heck I love using this in saltwater as they cast about 10 to 15 feet further than my lead, Why? I do not know, but I know that they do. It may be due to less wind resistants, or because they feel heavier, I cast harder. I know this for sure, when my friends ask for a weight, I hand them my lead weigths to my friends, and I only use the Tungsten weight. August 24, 2011
Not even close They missed the mark with these weights. The tungsten is what I was looking for, for environmental reasons, so was willing to pay the higher price. However, the shape of the weight doesn't fit to any worm I use and the paint doesn't come close to match what I ordered, color-wise or finish-wise. BPS - try again please! April 25, 2012
great product These tungsten weights are smaller in size than lead or steel, very sensitive, transmitt lake bottom quality quickly.allow for better hookups . I wish they were sold in larger quantities and cheaper. Fishing in lakes where no lead is allowed, these are very important. April 14, 2012

A:
A tungsten weight will be a lot smaller than the same weight lead weight as tungsten has a higher density, which allows you to keep a smaller profile while doing the same job.
Tungsten is also much harder than lead which causes a tungsten weight to make more noise when it comes in contact with structure such as rocks.
Tungsten is a lot more expensive than lead, which is the main downside to using tungsten, but the advantages tungsten offers make this negligible in a lot of situations. The other downside that can occur with the tungsten weights is I've come across a few brands that were not made all that well, causing line fraying and ultimately breakage issues, but many brands have encountered this issue and resolved it.

Tungsten is a smaller more condense substance than lead which is in regular bullet weights. So it is a smaller weight but has the same weight as regular lead weights

A:
Color to me is mainly a confidence aspect of a worm weight, though I generally only have black, brown & green pumpkin with me when fishing as those three colors will cover most of what I throw 90% of the time.
To be honest I'll just as soon throw an unpainted weight as compared to one that is colored.

For different applications, water temps, water clarity, and different baits. And black is the best all around color for weights

A:
I usually go with pumpkin or watermelon. Thats because the baits I usually use are those colors. Its best to try to match the weight color with the bait color so the fish dont see it as unnatural (even tho theres an obvious hook sticking out of it lol)

So it depends on what color baits you mainly use. I also like black when I'm fishing stained water because the contrast helps draw their attention in murky water

A:
The different colors listed are colors that are or are similar to the most popular soft plastic colors used for bass fishing. Using a color that is very similar or is the same color as the soft plastic that you are throwing helps to not spook the fish, especially those that are finicky. Saying this, it's hard to recommend a "one best universal color to use". The reason being is that a red or black color will not look quite right with a pumpkinseed colored soft plastic and vice versa.
