This grub has caught more fish in creeks, rivers and lakes in my area than any other bait i've used and i fish 5 or 6 days a week. The action seems very enticing to all species of fish from bluegill, red eye, crappie, smallmouth, largemouth, sauger and even catfish. I seem to catch more and larger fish every time I tie one of these grubs on, even when the weather turns bad and we cant catch fish on any other lure.

the description says anise scent but the catalog says that all BPS plastics now come with 8up scent. which is correct?

as far as I know if plastics are scented so be it. I use Berkly Powerbait walleye scent for I fish perch and perch and walleyes travel together.Anise has a distinctive scent so just smell the grub and you will know. The grub i buy i say they don;t but who am i to say and if the product works don't fight it use it as i do. 8up scent i have no idea.
