You will have to get used to this grease. It is not the gloppy toothpaste like mess that you are used to. This grease, you just rub it in and leave a sheen on the surface. That's all there is to it. This grease does not contain dye so it will not stain. It has no known shelf life so it won't go bad. Do yourself a favor and try it in one reel for one season. You will not be disappointed. I am just glad that Bass Pro now carries Reel Saver oil and grease. Again, thanks for carrying the best products.
