At first I was disappointed with this lure because I was expecting it to be a clone of the Lucky Craft Sammy, which it is not. There's a slit in the face of the lure that lets water in and the gills have slits to let the water spray out.
Today I gave it a chance and the fish in my local lake loved it. Smallmouth and largemouth were inhaling this bait with abandon.
This lure sits -in- the water, not on the water so you have to work it differently than a Sammy. It doesn't glide very far but it kicks up plenty of water when you jerk it. I'd make it more buoyant if I was manufacturing the lure but hey, it works well enough and costs about half what the Sammy costs.
