I used this vest during the 2010 season and it never let me down. The pockets are generous and well laid out. I had my vest stuffed with tools, knives, fishing lines, gloves ... you name it and never encountered any comfort problems. The fleece neckguard came in handy on a fly-in trip In May when the weather featured snow and wind gusts. Plus, it looks cool.

The XPS Platinum Series Flotation Vest is well worth the purchase price. The comfort of fit, ease of adjustment and multiple waterproof storage pockets makes it a vest for all seasons. A feature that I really like is the removable collar. The collar fifs tight and helps keep you warm during high speed early morning runs or it can be removed to aid in air circulation and help keep you cool.
A great value for the money.

I have a hard time finding a quality lifejacket that fits well. This jacket is comfortable and has the feel of being extremely well made. I like the zipper and straps closure and the "D" ring to attach my kill switch. This jacket replaces one that has worn out that cost almost twice as much and it is every bit as high quality.

My chest measures 43" and I wear a medium shirt. I bought the platinum lifevest in a size large. It fits well with a light jacket on and is a little bit big with just a tshirt on. I hope this helps you decide.
The front panels are solid foam. The back of the jacket has separate pieces that are approx. 2" x 20". These are in sections with 2 pieces of foam per section. Very little movement when it is properly fitted.
Yes a large will fit. But may be a little to big. I would think a medium. If you are out in cold weather with a jacket it could be close. I wear a 2X and with winter cloths I still have plenty of room to adjust.
It is pretty snug if you have it tight and secure when you put it on . As far as movement while paddling it might be a little restrictive depending on how tight you have it. The straps going between your legs won't let it ride up
Yes, it is a perfect vest to be wore while paddling a kayak. I use it all the time while at Kentucky Lake and when I go to Canada. I have no problem with it restricting movement or riding up. It has several straps for adjusting.
My vest is an XL. I couldn't find a Max. wt. listed but it did have a minimum of 90 Lbs. If one uses the leg straps, which is a feature on racing vests, you can't come out of it. The vest has been tested at 50 or 55 MPH.
