The Bass Pro Shops® XPS® Crazy Bug features a unique and highly-realistic crawfish body modeled on the actual crustaceans that bass love to feed on. The tight, scooting wiggle at 7'–8' depth closely resembles the motion of living crawdads, and the integral silicone strands give it more realism than any other hard-bodied crawfish imitation on the market! Eight natural colors allow you to match the crawfish species native to your region, assuring your success. Great for largemouth, smallmouth, and even walleye. Two #4 black nickel trebles.
Good lure could be great
I've been trying to buy this lure ever since it came out. In spring it was never in stores ( at least Detroit and Toledo) and was out online. I finally found one in August and was very pleased with it. It caught a lot of fish but it could use some improvements. The split ring where you tie the line on have a tendency to stick to the eye or your line ends up in between the ring causing the bait not to run straight. This was probably the issue with previous review. The hooks are not very strong. I had a small Pike hit it and it straighten the hooks out. I have since ordered more of these and made the modifications myself and have been extremely happy. I hope they will make this bait in a bigger size because it truly looks like a crayfish coming through the water.

I found this on sale in the local Bass Pro Shop. I bought 2, they looked and seemed different. Outstanding lure!! Caught a 3# largemouth first cast. The bass couldn't leave it alone. I'm buying more. If the guy who didn't like the lure fished more than once a month, maybe he would understand what a super product this is. A must for all tackle boxes!

Fish catchin' machine
I bought 2 and after fishing them I bought 10 more for an even dozen. All of them ran perfect right out of the box. This thing looks just like a craw in the water with the legs folding back when cranked and popping out when stopped. I was throwing it on 10lb test and it seemed to me to go about 10 to 12 foot deep. Great wiggle and it even had the hunting action when it would bounce off of structure. Very similar to a wiggle wart action. Maybe cabassin was using a snap or had bad line twist but my ran perfect.

Does not run correctly
After a few casts this crazy bug lived up to it's name and began to spiral in the water instead of shimmying. Tried 3 different crazy bugs same problem with each of them. I bought 8. One of each color. Not happy with the performance....

Live crawfish vary in colors according to region and season. Turn over rocks and debris in a shallow creek that feeds your home lake and capture a live crawfish, examine its color. Match your plastic craw to the real thing.
