Bass Pro Shops® XPS® Lazer Eye™ Weedless Spoon
I bought my first XPS Lazer Eye Spoon when I was much younger. It was shiny so I bought it of course. Years later, after I lost the original, I bought a replacement. In a quite funny incident I was swimming this spoon with a pork chunk over some sunken logs in a pond and noticed how it looked EXACTLY like a swimming baitfish. I called my friend over to look and right as I said how much it looked like a fish, a bass came up and inhaled it. So needless to say so I like these. Great colors, finish durability, and action, especially with some color coordinated pork to match. The one complaint I have is that its not totally weedless.

It does work pretty well. It's not an 'every cast catches a fish' lure, but there is a time and place when you need something weedless, flashy and simple.

I bought this spoon about a year ago and really haven't used it until this last week fishing weeds/pads for pike. I probably caught 3 pike with it when the 4th took off with the spoon and left me with the weedless wire attached. I figured the loop would be more firmly welded to the spoon not the weedless wire. It worked when I used it but it just didn't last as long as I hoped.

43" Ontario Northern!
This was the only weedless spoon that would safely navigate through a submerged 15' football field sized weed bed located in a bay of a Dawn Lake, Ontario fly-in trip (Wilderness North). When it did finally catch on something, which felt like a log snag, it turned out to be the corner of a fat 43" Northern's mouth!! After the subsequent fight, catch and release, the weld between the weed guard/terminal loop and the spoon became very loose, making me wary of using it again, but it's a small price to pay... I would still recommend this lure, as it worked perfectly until I caught that 30+ #er. Lure used was the Gold Shad in 3/4 oz.
