DOES THE JOB I bought this product last year and it is working great, I bought this for our weekend trips around the state to keep the bow mount charged and have been completely satisfied with it. I dont use my bow mount alot so 5/5 amp has been more than sufficent because of the smart technology where as if your cranking battery is charged it will focus all 10 amps to your accessory battery but if your in a hurry or use it a lot you may want to go with the 10/10 instead. The only thing I did not like was it did not come with anything to mount it you have to fabricate it into your boat but it was relatively easy. Also when you connect it to the extension cord it arcs (which freaks you out a bit) I think this is why they are dying prematurely but have not had it happen to me yet. All in all it has been a good product. February 8, 2012
Great product for the price. Easy to install and so far is working great. I have to give it more time to see if any issues arise. March 27, 2014
No Problems I use this charger every time I go fishing and it always has my batteries charged fully the next morning when I get ready to go again. It is mounted in my battery compartment so I just plug it in. No wires to fool with each time I want to use it. The best thing about a charger like this one is that it does not overcharge and it does not boil the water out of your batteries like a standard automatic battery charger does so you can leave it plugged in all the time. Works great no problems I bought this charger three years ago and still works like day I bought going to buy another the other boat. Best charger for the money September 12, 2014

I believe my trolling battery gave out on me while on the lake. Would the transfer on demand feature pull charge from my motor battery? The reason I ask is that it was also low voltage (11V) while the trolling motor battery was around 8 Volts.

Transfer on demand is a Charging function not a Discharge function. You will need a Phase charger or one of the MinnKota Alternator chargers

NO Blue AC Power Light Ring or Charge Status Indicator or Battery Type LED
Check for loss of AC power at the 120VAC outlet. Confirm GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) has not tripped. Check with a meter or 120VAC test light that AC power is present at the end or your extension cord. Reset AC power if it was not present. Confirm all charger cables are installed with the correct polarity connections at each battery and that all connections are clean and tight. Wait 2 minutes while unit performs self-test. If AC power is present and all connections are correct and LEDs do not illuminate, contact ProMariner technical department for further assistance 1-800-824- 0524 from 8:30 am to 5pm Eastern Time. If your XPSiT is within the warranty period of 2 years from the date of purchase, you can return for an exchange. Thanks
