The XPSiT charger needs to be plugged into AC outlet to charge the batteries. The 10/10 will not charge the battery while the boat is running. Thanks!

No this will not charge your batteries unless it is plugged into an outlet. Your motor should charge the battery it is hooked to while it is running.

In the description, it says it has transfer-on-demand. The way it's worded, it should charge while the boat's running.

The charger can charge cranking or deep cycle batteries. However, this isn't like the alternator on your vehicle. Rather, it is like the portable models. The great beneifit for these types of chargers are that you can keep the charger wherever you take your boat and be able to charge on the spot, without the fear of having a charger swiped or being out in the elements. Also, it's great for boats that are wet-docked, as it keeps from having a portable charger around open water.

It dissipates heat through the casing, so it does get warm to the touch. Most often we describe temperature as: you can touch the charger, but you would not want to carry it across the room. I hope this helps. Thanks!
