All of us here at Bass Pro Shops® appreciate the time and effort our customers put forth to review the products they have purchased. Not only do these product reviews help other customers with their purchases, but the reviews help us too. We're constantly monitoring the product reviews to ensure that our valued customers are completely satisfied with the purchased product's performance. A series of negative product reviews prompts our pro team to re-think and re-design a product to ensure our customers are purchasing the highest-quality product on the market. And in the case of the XPS® Hook Holders, we've done just that.

The improved XPS Hook Holders are made with a stronger, more durable, heat-resistant 100-percent silicone material. Designed to fit most freshwater and saltwater rods, these hook holders simply stretch over the guides or butt section of your rod. Not only do these hook holders offer a quick and convenient way to store a dangling hook or lure, they also work to protect your rod's guides by reducing abrasion caused by a hook.

Tip: When installing on a spinning rod, work the Hook Holder onto the butt of the rod and roll the Hook Holder up the handle to the desired position. When installing on a casting or trigger rod, work the Hook Holder over the tip of the rod being careful not to damage your guides as you make your way down to the handle.

IT DOES THE JOB. MY OVERALL SATISFACTION WITH THESE HOOK/LURE HOLDER DOES OK. IT HOLDS THE HOOK, ETC. IN PLACE. EVEN IF THE LITTLE CIRCLE HOOP RIPS, U CAN STILL USE THE WHOLE OTHER RUBBER PART TO HOLD YOUR HOOK/LURES IN PLACE. BASICALLY ITS JUST LIKE A THICKER KIND OF RUBBERBAND. May 3, 2009
BPS XPS Hook Holders I bought about 8 packs of the XPS hook holders for me and friends. They are basically worthless. They break in as little as two weeks on frequently used rods ... if they make it that far. Many times they break trying to install them no matter how careful one is. They are not up to the high standards of Bass Pro Shops. An add-on product like this is needed, but not this one!! May 8, 2006
XPS Hook Holders I purchased several of these in late spring of 2008. It is now November and I have not had any of mine break or fail in any way. I use them, my wife uses them and my son uses them. All of us are very pleased with these holders. Perhaps there were problems with some ealier versions of this product, but the version I purchased has performed flawlessly. November 17, 2008
XPS Hook Holders Terrible item. Too bad because its a great concept. Problem...the rubber becomes brittle in a few weeks and the loop rips off. Save your $. April 28, 2006

I think they come in a pack of 3 or 4, if i remember. they do not rip too easily, but really, how much tension are you planning on putting on these? its just soft rubber, they will hold your hook just fine.

It's been a while, but I think there are 3 or 4 in a package. I have never ripped one out and it seems like it would take quite a bit of effort to tear one.

They come 4 per pack. They are made from very thick rubber, you would HAVE to try HARD to damage these. Under competative fishing conditions they should last many years.

Haven't ripped one yet. Just don't reel up too tight, and you should be fine. Since they're cheap, I ordered extras, just in case.
