Not recommended I bought this item for a specific tournament two weeks ago. We were going to be fishing a lot of grass and pads. After the first cast, I knew that this frog was junk. It wouldn’t lay right in the water, it wouldn’t stay floating and it was getting hung up. I gave it the benefit of the doubt and threw it about 5 more times. I had the same results every time. After the tourney, I threw it in the trash can. When I was standing in BPS with a Spro Bronzeye Frog and this frog in my hand, I knew I should have spent a little more money and got the bronzeye. Great Frog once custumized. Yes the frog sinks and wont float so do like I did and follow the other reviewers instuctions and remove the heavy wight and leave the other one laying in there but I went a step further and put a small rattle in mine those stupid fish see that dark now floating and rattling frog on a cloudy day and cant help but tear it up like theres no tommorow. I fish with only one other type of frog and thats a White And Green Scum Popper frog between these 2 thats all need to catch big Bass. Dont go spend 15.00 dollars on a frog just do like me and the others did to the frog and go have fun. June 6, 2009
If only it would keep floating I fished this frog in heavy weeds and it worked beautifully for about 5 casts. After that I noticed that it I was getting hungup in the weeds immediately after I started my retrieve. The problem was that the frog had lost its ability to float and was sinking as soon as it hit the water. I thought that maybe water had gotten trapped in the frog body, so I squeezed and shook it but that didn't help. Perhaps there was something wrong with my frog but based on my limited experience I would advise against buying this frog. September 18, 2006
Not for Me! I am very disappointed with the performance of this lure! Sure, the texture and profile of the bait are excellent, but whats the point if it's swimming upside down! Not too realistic! The legs are a good idea as well as the textured body but this bait needs some more improvement. Also, this thing weighs too much in my opinion. It always lands with a big SPLOOSH! even on top of the thick stuff. I'll stick with the Spro Bronzeye Frogs. March 26, 2009
