The Bass Pro Shops® XPS® Freestyle Jig was inspired by a Japanese jigging technique that uses 2 single-assist hooks, making it harder for a fish to throw the bait.

Bass Pro Shops XPS Freestyle Jig 4.6 5 29 29
give it a try I used this jig on my last trip(first time trying it.) I caught a little bit of everything with it including a 40 lb. carp. The double hook end is great for those slow biters. Would recommend a rod with counter weight when "freestyle jigging" with this jig. Planning on buying it in a few more colors. July 18, 2008
Works great I caught 25 to 50 or more white bass (sandys) on 2 out 4 trips to the lake . Very seldom will they throw the spoon ! I would recommend a 1oz.. It cast farther & sinks faster ! I would rate it higher but the chrome came off on the 2nd. or 3rd. time I uesd it !!! July 30, 2008
WOW This is a awesome jig! Me and my dad went up to BPS the other day and decided to try some new lures. Well this was one of the new lures we got and it made a big difference on the number of fish we caught. I also caught one big smallmouth with it. November 26, 2007
freestyle jig This lure is a killer of flounder, sea bass, and striper lure as well as many other fish. I do a fishing trip to marthas vinyard every year and load up on this lure. I couldnt recomend it any more this is my go to lure. March 22, 2011

Do they work that well?

Details:
Are they effective when drifting over structure or through rips searching for fish, or are they only effective once gamefish have been found and attracted?

We use these with a spoon technique. the double hooks will hang up easy in brush and stump piles so you have to be careful as they don't dislodge like a regular slab spoon can.

It's one of the best deep vertical jigs I've ever used on white and hybrid striped bass in 15 to 35 feet of water. For clear water try natural colors or white. Works well for fish that are suspended or on the bottom. With a good depthfinder, you can watch it work in a school of fish.

I use a small duo-lock snap and attach at the end away from the hooks. It might be interesting to try it the other way!

I saw a Shimano rep fishing this lure on tv. He recommend you tie to the ring w/ the hooks. This keeps the fish from using the weight of the lure to throw the hook. I'm not sure why they have the rear ring, I guess to add a third hook if wanted. The show was salt water w/ much larger lures, but I'm sure it will work the same.
