If you haven't tried out this new technique called "freestyle jigging," what are you waiting for? Give it a try! This is a new technique, so many bass have never seen jigs like these before. More like jigging spoons, you should fish them vertically near docks, bridge pilings, and deep structure. You can tie the line to either end, the hook eye providing more flutter. I like this lure also because of it's double hooks. This makes it much easier to get a hold of the fish, and easier to set the hook. The fish will also have difficulty throwing out these hooks. I recommend a longer than usual rod, sensitive, with a soft tip, like a G. Loomis IMX 7'6" Flipping Rod, which has a lot of backbone and sensitvity. Use braided line to detect bites easier. Set the hook with a flip of the wrist as soon as you feel the bass load up. I recommend color silver or shad. They are very flashy and look just like a dying baitfish.

This is a awesome jig! Me and my dad went up to BPS the other day and decided to try some new lures. Well this was one of the new lures we got and it made a big difference on the number of fish we caught. I also caught one big smallmouth with it.

This jig works wonders. The fish hammer this jig. Casts like a bullet, and has amazing action. Because the hooks are not attached to the jig itself, the jig hangs along for the ride. Halibut are in love with this jig aswell. Had alot of action and flash. buy it for your next saltwater trip, you will not be disapointed i PROMISE you.

It's one of the best deep vertical jigs I've ever used on white and hybrid striped bass in 15 to 35 feet of water. For clear water try natural colors or white. Works well for fish that are suspended or on the bottom. With a good depthfinder, you can watch it work in a school of fish.Answers

I use a small duo-lock snap and attach at the end away from the hooks. It might be interesting to try it the other way!

I saw a Shimano rep fishing this lure on tv. He recommend you tie to the ring w/ the hooks. This keeps the fish from using the weight of the lure to throw the hook. I'm not sure why they have the rear ring, I guess to add a third hook if wanted. The show was salt water w/ much larger lures, but I'm sure it will work the same.
