Fine, But Just Fine. There is nothing wrong with these - I bought them to pop into some tubes to skip under low hanging cover. They do what they're supposed to - but don't fish them around any heavy cover. The hooks bend easy. They are also difficult to get into certain tubes... but there is nothing wrong with the shank size etc. - you just have to have multiple tube sizes before you order something online without looking at it first hand ;) July 18, 2013
Versatile Tube Head This is a good head, it works great for tubes. The hooks on it are plenty sharp for me, but what I really like about it is that I can use it for my tubes, or for any other bait, like the grubs I use in the winter time. It fits well inside tubes, and the barb collar below the head of the jig works great to hold the baits on, not to mention the price, which is great. December 31, 2008
Great hook Hooks are perfect, there very sharp and since i used them, i have never lost a bass yet off them and i used them for 3 weeks now and i fished everyday with them. Only thing thats wrong with them is need to be a bit tougher, they bend straighter and straighter after the fish but all i do is re-curve them and ur good :) July 2, 2010
special purpose jig heads I buy these jigheads because they are inexpensive, I fish the rocks and flooded brush in Yellowtail Res. and if you fish it right you are hung-up a lot and lose some tackle, they do the job May 14, 2010

Are these made with lead?

Details:
I heard that the production of lead weights is going to be stopped because of the environmental impact. Does anyone know if this is this true?

Yes these are lead, and your second question is semi-true, it depends on your area. I think more anglers will lean towards tungsten in the near future, especially if it means healthier fisheries.

My gut says the impact from lead anything (jogs, sinkers, shot, etc.) in the wild is almost negligible, however, I think most of us would do anything to keep our favorite waters as healthy as possible. So if we transition to another metal, who cares? Especially if the price difference is tiny...

I'm no tree-hugger, but I'd do anything to leave the smallest possible trace when I visit an area.
