Here’s what you get: We start out with an immensely powerful yet feather-light 60-million-modulus Powerwall IM9 graphite blank, then wrap the butt section with a new diamond weave carbon fiber to enhance lifting power. We top the blank with virtually frictionless, mirror-polished Fuji aluminum oxide guides, and we finish the blank with the most durable clear-coat available. The grips are turned from ultra-premium-grade cork, with our exclusive PowerHump handle to aid in balance and enhance fish-turning power. The full-contact, Soft Touch reel seat puts your fingers directly on the blank so you can feel even the softest bite. The result is a fishing rod that is farthest removed from the ordinary, that is anything but the usual suspect, and that far exceeds what you expect from a rod at this price point. By definition, these rods truly are extreme!
PowerHump Handles:
Our specially contoured, premium cork handle design gives you enhanced leverage and an increased sense of confidence during the battle!
Fuji Aluminum Oxide Guides:
Polished to a mirror-like, friction-free finish. Extremely durable; precisely spaced for perfect line flow.
Full Contact Soft Touch Reel Seat:
Lightweight, rock-solid reel seat locks your reel in place, and the blank-thru construction puts your fingers in direct contact with the blank for the utmost vibration transmission.

Rated 5 out of 5 by silentbob553 Very solid rod from BPS
I bought this rod with a full cork handle a few years ago to go fishing for northern pike in northern Minnesota. It worked extremely well and caught me many fish. But after a few years the top most eyelet popped out of its wire frame. I don't know if this is a problem other people have been having, but I thought I should mention it. I would definitely buy it again.

I have 4 of these, 3 with the full cork handle, and I am very happy with their sensitivity and strength. They are light, strong and durable. I have caught some large bass and pickerel on the 6'6" M
rods and will be buying a 6'6" ML next. I get them when they go on sale and have them paired with Pflueger Supreme, Abu Garcia Cardinal 603 and BPS Pro Qualifier reels. Very good rods. It's hard to use my "old" favorite rods after fishing with these.

All I can tell you, thus far, is that this pole is lightweight and very attractive. Matches perfectly with their Extreme reel. Once I actually land some fish with it, I will be able to add more, but for what little time I have shared with it, I love it.
Again, I have not had this rod long at all, but it's already been dropped and man-handled. A lot of pressure was accidentally applied to one of the guides and it is still attached to the pole.

I have this rod in Medium power and want to go lighter for small, light crank baits and drop shotting.Answers
A:
This rod is excellent for bass. My recomendation is to use lighter line, 6lb-8lb during the cool-cold months and heavier line, 8lb-10lb during the warmer months. To give you an idea I caught a 10lb stripper on 8lb , using the same rod you have. See picImages for this Answer

The older models with the solid cork handle have an unscrewable butt cap, but the new, split handle models don't.Details:

I use the pflueger president on my, very sweet setup for pitchin rubber and light trolling.Top 500 Contributor

I have this rod and have a Daiwa Exceller 2500 reel on it. The reel is the older model; 4.7:1 gear ratio so it has plenty of torque. This rod is made to throw heavier baits so I would suggest a reel with plenty of torque and a good drag. I don't have a Shimano reel, but I can recommend BPS Pro Qualifier, Pflueger Supreme and Abu Garcia medium size reels for this rod.Details:

I though I saw in previous ads that the seven foot two piece was telescoping, and my friend bought one a few years ago that was.Answers
A:
The 7 rod I bought was 2 piece not telescopingA:
The two piece rods are not telescoping. The one I purchased is 7' obne piece.A:
The 7' 2-piece rod is not telescoping in the spinning rod, however, in the 7'6" trigger rods (found by searching item number 16373200) are telescoping rods (meaning that they have a retractable butt section).1 of 1
